The explanations are short and sweet. The pictures are pleasant and perfect for colouring. This book may provide a springboard for a child’s interest in the Greeks and their culture.

I purchased this for my daughter who has absolutely loved this book. The drawings that are available to colour are detailed so would suggest that if you were looking to buy the book it would be best suited to a child 7 and over.

The descriptions provide a good bit of detail about the stories portrayed, which is nice. The illustrations are okay - people are a bit stiff and the background is sketched in in a way that may make it difficult to colour in. Parents might want to be aware that there is quite a bit of talk about certain goddesses' protectiveness of their virginity, and in one story, Hephaestus tries to force himself on Athena, but she evades him and he spills his seed on the ground, creating a monster.
