Does the job, the size makes it more discreet on the viv. Gives off a good heat.

As heat mats go, this is pretty much exactly what you'd expect: it's a black mat with a power cable hanging off it and a 3M-branded adhesive sheet, which can be used to secure it in place.Slide it into place, plug it in, tweak the temperature as appropriate, and job's a good 'un...Physically, it feels robust enough - and waterproof enough - to keep inside a vivarium, and while it's perhaps on the small side, it works more than well enough for smaller snakes and insects.On a less positive side, the cable is definitely on the short side, and it's a bit of a shame that there's no LEDs to let you know what the current power/heating settings are; with everything being made of black plastic, the markings on the temperature dial are effectively invisible from any distance.But still, it's handy to have!

🌟 I ordered this heat mat to use in my Hissing Madagascar Cockroach enclosure. Our home has been getting quite drafty lately, and although they generally don't require a heat mat, I feel like it's necessary over these cold months as the temperature is just too low for them and they won't breed unless it's at a specific temperature➕️ The heat mat comes with a large adhesive tab the same size as the mat to keep it stationery and in one place. The mat also has a power cable and plug connected to it➕️ I ordered this heat mat in the 8x6 inch option which is the perfect size for our enclosure. This size is suitable for a 20-30 gallon tank or enclosure➕️ The mat is really simple to use. You just need to plug it in then turn the dial on the power cable. You can turn it all the way to "On" from "Off" which will put it to max temperature. To turn it off you just need to turn it anti clockwise back to off until you hear a click.➕️ It heats up instantly and reaches temperature within a minute, really fast heating. Once at temperature it's really nice and hot, perfect for placing at the bottom of the tank and then covering with the large wood chips➕️ The power cable is an OK length. I'd say about a metre perhaps a little more. Preferably it would have been a little bit longer🌟 Overall the heat mat is exactly what we needed. The roaches have been really active since putting it in and they've been coming out of their tubes and hidey spaces to relax over the spot. Lots of hissing going on too. Works really well, fast heat up, keeps temperature, nice and thin so it sticks to the bottom of the tank securely and hidden.

I was on the look out for a new heat may for my snake so got this. I have it inside the tank and works great. The snake loves it..lol

Perhaps I should read more carefully but I was a bit surprised at the small size when I saw it. It’s STILL A USEFUL AREA though. NOT TOO SMALL to be of value with a small pet.I do like this heated pad which seems quite well made, IMHO. It comes with an adhesive sheet (3M). Good.In this day and age I find the LACK OF LED INDICATOR(S) a bit strange. In fact I can find no indication of the status of the switching other than a nice positive ‘click’ that indicates on/off. The switch is a very strange, fairly flat, conical affair. It’s easy to turn because it’s edge is accessible (see pic). I assume the shape has some purpose but I don’t know what it is. No worries.The heating effect seems pretty instant. I think the heating isn’t uniform.I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.

I ordered this as the listing does say it can be used for seeding plants however due to the size it isn’t big enough for what we needed.I can see the benefits for a small reptile tank which I believe is what the primary use for this is, however as I say at the time I ordered it did say on the listing that it could be used for seeding.The product itself does get off a good amount of heat and it does appear to be quite adhesive so although it cannot be used for what we needed, I didn’t want to give this product a bad review as I feel it could be useful for small reptiles. It just isn’t suitable for what we need.

Tried this out in my spare vivarium. Heats up well. Put some reptile sand on top to see what heat output is like when in full use. The sand did take a good while to heat up. Overall this would really suit a small vivarium.. as for the price it could be a little cheaper for its size..
