As a sports advocate, I really enjoyed the stories told in this book. I would highly recommend reading if you’re into sports.

A pretty interesting and informative read.

I go this for my younger sister, who didn't make the variety soccer team.Soccer is her passion, but we could never afford to put her on a team due to tight money.She loves to play with her friends, and I think she's pretty good.In May, she tried out for the high school's varsity team. She was encouraged to join the team by the girl's varsity coach, who saw her with a soccer ball.Lo and behold, my sister was cut from the team. My sister was BEYOND distraught. I mean to the point where she started telling her friends that the coach cut her because she thought the coach was racist against Asians- which we figured she was just saying as a coping mechanism.She even went to counseling because she was inconsolable and WOULD NOT move on with her life. For someone who was facing rejection for the first time, she was NOT taking it well.Finally-I got her this book. After reading the book a couple of times, I think it really helped her to understand the reality in front of her. It was a good reality check, and it encouraged her to try out for tennis instead- she made the team!I think if it weren't for this book, she would still be stuck in a dark head space and mindset.

I did drop my jaw to read the book of over 500 pages about sports. The author has such a great knowledge about this field. The only point I wish to see is some illustrations, which makes the book more colorful and vivid!

I've a great time reading these stories that I never heard of before; some of them are so interesting and inspirational that I'll read them again later when I get a chance. Highly recommended!

It’s great to have baseball basketball and football stories in one book, little known stories about the players, and behind the scenes information! A great Jeff for the sports fan, either a beginning sports fan or an expert!
