This HISAFE Passage door handle is a very high quality piece of hardware. Physically heavy, robust and well built. Absolutely no comparison to the other door handles that came with my house when it was built! I requested this handle to install on the door on my workshop because lever handles are easier to open when your hands are full carrying tools. (You can use the back of your hand or your elbow) Installation is easy but please note if you have standard 2-1/8 handle openings in your door you will need to remove the two 2-3/4 (on center) threaded pins that come installed on the handle for commercial door handle door openings. (Flats are provided on the pins for easy removal) Optional threaded holes are provided in the barrel of the mechanism for standard 2-1/8 handle holes. From the looks of this handle it will take the beating I give door handles being opened using whatever I happen to be carrying!

Impressive build quality for the price, Grade 2 rated but very sturdy so should last. I have been impressed with the HISAFE products and we have installed a couple of the handle sets in our warehouse bathrooms and they are working great so far. Note that if you are not familiar with the different types of handle sets, this one is a "passage" handle, meaning used for opening and closing the door only. It does latch the door closed but there is no lock mechanism at all so not a "privacy" or "entry" type handle set. This type of handle set is used on hallway/stairwell doors and the like where you don't want it able to be locked.

Seems to be very sturdy and of high quality, but very sparse on instruction. I’m not even sure how to get the two handle components apart to begin performing the installation. Not for an inexperienced diy’er like me.

If you've ever grabbed a similarly made door handle in a commercial building, that is what you are getting but only for an internal, non-locking door. If you need a commercial quality door handle for an internal door, this would be a great option.

I originally ordered this HISAFE commercial heavy duty passage door lock to use on one of the bathroom doors in my warehouse. But when this handset arrived, I couldn't believe how nice it was! The materials are such high quality, brass and stainless steel. Now, I think its too nice and heavy duty to waste it on a bathroom door lol! So I'm going to use it in a more venerable place, the garage door that leads to our inside lounge area. If someone tried to brake in, it would probably be through that door, so I have so much faith in this high quality handsey that I'm going to put it on that door, so it can protect us, not just open and close an interior door! You bet I recommend this door handset! If you're in the market for one, I'd absolutely urge you to consider this heavy duty locking handset, you won't be disappointed.

I am a property manager for older high-end houses. These houses have solid wood doors. I needed to replace a door handle and decided to order this product. The quality is top notch. It is solidly constructed. The satin finish is well polished, smooth, and without defects. The box contains all the parts necessary to install in any door. Installation is the same as any door handle. I would consider using this model for all my doors in my houses.P.S. There is a spelling error on the box flap that the manufacturer should fix. It reads, "SMALL CHANGS. BIG DIFFERENCE" - Note how "Changes" is spelt.

I had to replace a locking commercial handle on a furnace room door with one that didn't lock. This was almost a perfect match. The internal assembly method was slightly different, but the main cylinder hole and the mounting through-bolt holes were a match with what was already installed. I didn't even have to mess with replacing the latch, strike-plate, and related parts. The instructions were detailed and clear. They cover a variety of mounting methods, door thicknesses, and include a template. This is 3-hour UL fire-rated, which we needed for the furnace door.

This lockset is not your average lockset. The hardware is very heavy-duty. The quality of the materials and the heft of the lockset is definitely built to handle continuous use. Suited for all commercial applications including hospitals, warehouses, schools, industrial applications, as well as residential. Installation could be a bit easier but given the fire rating and security of the lockset, it's worth the additional few minutes of installation. highly recommended for all types of installation.
