I have collected and read many gardening books over the last 30 years and I have to say that rarely these days do I come across a book that so much thought has gone into writing. I really enjoyed reading this one. Sadly, much of what is written on the subject lately seems to be simply copied from others. Not so this one. This is a gardening book for our times and it is amazing how much ground she has covered in these pages. If you are a gardener concerned about ecology and the larger environment (and we all should be) then this is, hands down, a must have for todays gardener.

Kelly Smith Trimble has written a gorgeous and informative guide to vegetable gardening for those who are ready to move "outside the box." This book is a treasure trove of wisdom and a great reference. But it's more than that -- THE CREATIVE VEGETABLE GARDENER is also poetic, philosophical, and extremely well-written. I have read it cover to cover, and I plan to return to it again and again. Bravo, Kelly Smith Trimble! This book is a gem and a great gift to anyone who wants to think deeply about the role gardening can play for those who want to cultivate a meaningful life.

This book is a must for anyone with a love for the simplistic joy of watching a garden grow. Its filled great tips on design, weeding, insects, and planting seasons. What sets it apart is that it also teaches you to find joy and wonder in planning and tending your garden no matter how successful you might be at actually producing vegetables. Highly Recommended!

This is an eye-catching book for new and experienced gardeners - full of tips and tricks and new knowledge to apply to your home gardening efforts. I enjoyed all of the photos that were included. The author does a great job of getting you more in touch with your garden as a whole - from the earth to the weeds to the insects to the moon cycles - exploring how all of these aspects can benefit your gardening efforts and expand your knowledge. This book is great for all who love to get their hands dirty and grow something!

This book is gorgeous! The author’s deep love of and knowledge about gardening shines through on every page. The design and the photography are wonderful. I love the message about finding the way to make your garden your own.

Kelly's book makes gardening FUN. She takes away any barriers and shows you how to work with what you have. I love the section on trellises--"be resourceful, get creative"--and the reminder that playing in one's garden can "satisfy a desire for more creative, carefree, fearless life." That is why I love to garden, and this book makes me excited to do more of it!

This book is filled with gardening wisdom and inspiration for growing a creative, inspired garden. If you love gardening you’ll find a lot to love in this book.
