Provides examples that illustrate broad applications of a reaction, from cyclic systems, influence of substituents on reactivity, and differences afforded by reaction conditions/reagents used.The text is used efficiently and provides suitably-specific mechanistic foundations for the reaction families studied.*Any obscurity created by class lecture notes was cleared by reading the chapter for the reactions in question.*Cannot recommend more highly.

Great book, a lot of information but that is organic chemistry for you.. Very detailed and explains how reactions function and their importance. There are also a lot of practice problems!! What I love the most is that everything in this book comes from the use of literature which you may easily obtain the article and perform the synthesis yourself! :)

This book is actually really good for anyone that's interested in organic chemistry. Carey did great in part A & part is the same. The book is inexpensive and very thorough so it's a great addition to any synthetic chemist's library.

This book is not for introductory organic students. It is a condensed review with some explanation for a huge number of synthetically useful organic reactions. It explains exactly what it needs to, with diagrams when necessary. This book has been extremely useful in my graduate level organic classes.

Strongly recommended to students who already have the basic knowledge and want to further understand the mechanism of organic chemistry reactions. Very well structured to serve this purpose!

A great text, packed full of information. A great deal for the price.

A well respected textbook, but this Kindle edition just gives a "This item is not compatible with this device" when I try to open it on my Kindle Paperwhite. Hopeless. This means the publisher has explicitly set a flag to stop it displaying. What's the idea?

We bought this book for university studies in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and turned out to be a great book. Highly recommended.

Un excelente libro de consulta, cubre la mayoría de los temas más importantes de la actualidad y da referencias bibliográficas para continuar con el estudio. Es un libro necesario para el profesionista, estudiante y profesor interesados en la química orgánica principalmente con orientación a la síntesis. Se complementa muy bien con la parte A dl mismo nombre y autor. Muy recomendable.
