Usually sealant is dispensed when the inside foil barrier is punctured by the small metal rod included with a caulking gun. This tube has a hard plastic tip that I had to razor blade off before I could get the stuff flowing. Now the way this is designed it's very convenient to unscrew the tip and screw on the included cover insuring the silicone will not dry out. You still have to deal with the silicone that dries out in the tip that was just removed but A for effort to the design team, D- for execution. I've dispensed many things from many caulking guns over the years and I've seen the designs get better and better but one thing that does not need to be changed is the caulking tubes. So yes, I don't like this design but as far as the silicone goes I'd rate it as good as one of the top brands, it skins nicely with a minute or 5 to shape and dries crystal clear when cured. I've used DAP and G.E. on projects and it lays down exactly the same, time to prep the tube aside of course.
