These are fun and will never break
I didn't want to buy another specialty gadget, especially one that needs batteries, takes up space and may die before I get my moneys worth out of it. And I couldn't decide which of the electronic stud finders was going to be best. So I went with magnets. These magnets locate nails and screws remarkable well. They are powerful magnets. (I often get them stuck together.) Once you pinpoint a few metal objects behind the wall and mark them with the stickers provided, you'll be able to visualize the studs under the sheetrock or plaster skin. Using these, I rarely hit a void.

Totally awesome
These magnets are super strong. Which makes them super easy to use as they just have to be close to a nail and they will jump right on top of it! Glad to purchase something that actually works, and lives up to its hype. It does!

Easy to use and it does work ...
but honestly, you can find the nails or screw heads with any magnet without the silicone holder. I was trying to locate screw heads under a ceramic tile counter top so I could figure out which tiles needed to be removed to get the plywood off, and it worked better to take the "magic marble" (the magnet) out and roll it around. Even a flat bar magnet worked and stuck to a wall where the screw head is.

Works with lathe and plaster!
First stud finder that actually works. Very clearly found studs. See marked with tape on wall
