Darragh and Mari.
Great story, with lots of action and love. The beginning was a bit slow but when it picked up, it soon took off.If you like shifter story's then you'll love The Five Packs series. It's about growth and redemption and HEA's for the two main characters. Can't with for the next book.

This is a series that really grows on you.
The shifters in these books have a different culture and society than we are used to seeing. Rather than.humans who have an animal side these.shifters are animals that occasionally wear skin they still see.themselves as the wolf, they are taught from children the wolf and.man are one. So there's no courtship of romance here, nature assigns you a mate and that's how its done. All well and good if you are happy with the mate fate has chosen for you but these books look at what happens when fate for whatever reason has decided to have some fun. Such as pairing the lack Alpha.with the lowest ranked female or the Alpha's heir paired with a half wild mate and then this one where a wild uncontrollable almost feral male is mated to a young innocent girly girl........................

Favourite book in series!
Really enjoyed all the books in this series. They are all quite different and focus on different packs and characters, but there are some underlying plots that continue through the books. I would recommend reading them in order. This is my favourite book in the series. It features Mari and lone wolf Darragh. Darragh rejected Mari 4 years ago.. and we learn the reason why he rejected her and also learn more about the shifters who disappear and what is happening to them.

Mari
This book takes you back in time to the beginning before una and killian then time jumps four years for mari story.it does have a sweet end I think the witch was a little jealous maybe not so much about the male after all we now know who her mate is that she never got to be with. Now he single who knows. But to tell her to never be in two legs with the wolf and to say it's silly to believe love will heal and make it right was a little bitter I would not like her.I liked the ending

Enjoyed that!
Mari has felt unwanted for most of her life. Her father hurt her, her mother killed herself and as a pup she was shuffled around and now she lives with the other odd unmated females.Enter Durragh the loner of the pack, he lives alone as his wolf cannot be stopped or trusted. When the mating link opens Mari is waiting for the romance and flowers she has read about. Whst she gets is one and done! Fair warning you do not turn your back on Mari.

Swift moving!
Lots of action that unfolds into a beautiful love story. This one starts hard and then heads for brutality (you’ll be fine). The characters are quite “human” for all that this is a fantasy shifter series.Lots of heart healing and personal growth in this one. I laughed and cried healing alongside the characters. A beautiful story.

Mari + Darragh. Oh, my heart!
The Lone Wolf's Rejected Mate book is my favorite of the series so far. I was completely invested by the end of the first chapter, and I had a really hard time putting it down once I started it. Not gonna lie, Cate's MC series (and the Wall shootoffs) are my preferred trope, but she's made a shifter romance troper out of me because of this book. She broke my heart right away, then spent the entire rest of the book piecing it back together. Loved it!

Utterly captivating
Heads up, don’t start reading this book until you’ve read the first two books. It won’t really make sense otherwise, as this book unravels some enigmas introduced in the preceding ones. This book’s about Mari and Darragh. Theirs is a sorrowful tale, haunted by both their gritty pasts, and to me, pure perfection.Mari is a sweetheart with a fondness for all things pink and girly. But despite her delicate princess persona, her past is anything but. When she was still a young pup, her father, in a drunken fit, tried to kill her, and her mother ended up taking her own life. So, upon discovering her mate in Darragh, she believes her life will change—she can now have the family she always longed for. Instead, Darragh leaves her high and dry right after their heated mating with no clear explanations.Darragh is a hardened lone wolf, older than Mari (the book never explicitly stated how big their age gap is, but it hinted at his age being in the range of 36-38, while Mari was on the verge of turning 19). He lives a solitary existence on the outskirts of the Quarry pack’s territory, protecting them from afar, because, well, he’s got issues—the very same issues that compel him to keep Mari at a distance. And let me warn you, his issues wouldn’t just tug at your heartstrings, they would rip ‘em out.Anyway, I'll let you find out the rest of the story yourself. Just know that this book is yet another incredible piece of work by Cate C. Wells that solidifies my newfound fandom.

" How come no one wants me? "
" How come no one wants me? " - Oh dear, this is one of those love stories where you - as a reader - prefer to remain neutral. Mari and Darragh are both lonely and wounded souls who, on the surface, could not be more different. You just can't help but sympathize with both.Their initial difficulty in communicating with each other is reminiscent - in the broadest sense - of men are from Mars, women from Venus. I found the "cloche method" (here a container) very suitably implemented. - Otherwise it would probably have been even harder to get Darragh to speak. Nor did I find the kidnapping scene hasty; like other readers. And I love Cate C. Wells' "Breadcrumbs." - I'm slowly becoming an Abertha fan. I really liked the morning scene.
