Bought as a gift.

I would have to at least have bought ear defenders. Perhaps secreted my daughter away to safety... But we will never know now. She only opened the cupboard door, Your Honour, and the mug tumbled out all by itself on its final, non-return journey from the upper reaches of the cupboard to its final resting place on, and all over, the kitchen floor. She tried to stop its determined acceleration at 9.8 metres per second squared. She tried to intervene and at the very least alter its trajectory to land somewhere safer, like the worktop, or a chair... but it was most certainly on collision course with stone. Try as she might, she could not stop or slow its descent and, inevitably, it struck the cold stone of the kitchen floor with all the finesse of a new-born giraffe hitting the Serengeti for the first time. CRASH, it went, sending thousands (well 5 or 6) fragments of china across the kitchen floor, some never to be seen again. AND THEN THE STARK TRUTH HIT US: This mug was bought for my wife by her bestest oldest friend on the planet, during a particularly dark period of her life! We were doomed. Fearing for our safety, the kids and I wondered if it would be best to come clean, no no, that wouldn't work - or hide or run away, yes yes that was the best option. We would pack cases, jump in the car and go and stay in a hotel until we could find somewhere else to live! But then my son's Girlfriend reached for her iPad and declared that we were saved! We were not going to be murdered in our sleep. We would not be poisoned with arsenic or have our brake pipes cut before the school run. NO! We were going to be saved, because Amazon have someone who sells this EXACT MUG! And it will be here tomorrow!!! Thank you, Amazon for selling the East of India When It Rains Look For Rainbows mug. You just saved at least three lives!

Really nice quality upon arrival. I bought two of these as gifts so I don't know how well they fare in the dishwasher, etc.
