This is good but there needs to be a new version and it's basically a translation of some naughty words. It would be good to have some idioms in here too and more interesting stuff aswell to entertain.

A good fun read for those with a decent level of French. Some of the expressions are a bit outdated I gather but there are some good ones too which impresses native speakers when you drop it into conversation. This is more a dip in and read book rather than a course but if you're looking to sound a bit more genuine or even understand some of the language used on French TV and movies than this would be a great help.

I first read this book before I had even been to France, and although I didn't get some of the content I did find it quite amusing. Since spending 10 years living in France I cans see what a great piece of observation this book is, although some of the attitudes referenced are now a little dated. I recently bought a copy for a teenager who was struggling to engage with French at school. Whilst some of the subject matter maybe went over his head, he really enjoyed it- the first time he has really engaged with any book about France. So, this book has something for everyone, no matter your level.

For anyone living in France for a period of time will find this dictionary very useful if a good deal of time s spent with French local people, clubs and associations. A wealth of quite commonly used expressions, not to be found in an ordinary dictionary, will be found here - as well as the less used vulgarities, of course. More a work to assist in understanding daily rude and offensive expressions rather than to use them which should only be done with a good deal of prudence!

this was a Christmas Gift for my grandaughters who had laughed them silly reading my original MERDE book. I am not sure if their French teachers wold approve but it certainly promoted their interest in French as it is spoken!

A good comprehensive introduction to the really spoken French. You will learn words you have no idea about and they aren't rude ones!
