When the bike is delivered it will be already partially assembled. You will need to fit the front wheel, the seat, the handlebars and the pedals and any other extra items such as lights or mudguards. All the electric components are already connected you will just need to secure the battery to the bike. You will also need to check the brakes and gears are set up to suit the user and all other fittings are tightened sufficiently before use. Tyres will need inflating to the recommended pressures. If this is not something you are able to do we would suggest having the bike set up by a professional. As with all bikes we do suggest regular maintenance and safety checks are carried out by a capable person. All Chinese and all good value. This is the best
This is my fourth electric bicycle. All Chinese and all good value. This is the best, but most expensive. Others have cost less than £ 400 to £ 500 (but bought overseas). Why anyone would want to pay more than £ 1000 for a bicycle with a small motor and a battery beats me - if you don't have to pedal, the weight of the bicycle (and battery) is irrelevant. The scale and the quality of fittings on this one is excellent. It appears as if it will last rather longer than the others - around five years (but all with several replacements of the batteries, all previously lead-acid and therefore easy and cheap to replace). The motors are miraculous; I still have them all, in perfect working order. It's the "bike" bits that fail, wheels, frame, gears and seats. This bicycle arrived quickly, in perfect condition and more or less properly adjusted. Assembly was easy enough and it works well. But as usual, if you live amongst hills, expect to have to pedal more than a little.
