Update: The batteries died after short use 5 minutes or so every night. They are expensive, and it could even be a bad charger. Not happy.I am amazed!! The little thing blew me away. I can see all the way through the tall field grass in the backyard and keep my dog safe at night. So far the only eyeballs I've picked up were one opossum and a cat, but thankfully no coyotes. Or gators, which we have here. I'm on 5 acres, and distance is important. Love it!

So far it works well. I use it mostly when I let the dog out at night to keep track of her, and it does fine for that, even when she's 150-200 feet off. Haven't really pushed battery life - it's only on for 5-10 minutes at a time.

The advertised light intensity is exaggerated... by a lot

I ended up giving 2 of these as Christmas presidents and, canny wife noting them and my comments, ended up getting one as a present myself. Excellent initial appearance with the box it comes in. The light I received is the 5 mode version (apparently there is a 3 mode version) and all modes work. The focus is the 'slide' method for the top of the light. One comment here - the slide works well and easily. I have other slide lights that require a bit of force to get the light to slide but his light slides smoothly and easily.This even comes with instructions ( I know, shock and gasp considering what typically comes out of China these days for a quality light not costing a fortune) and a 100% guarantee.The charger works. The light is very bright. I have a realistic 300L light and this is much brighter. It is also brighter than a couple of lights I think perform at the 600-700L level.The folks who got it as a present were very pleased and were observed playing with it extensively (and are not teenagers as a side note).In summary - good product for a great price. I would make the buy again.

Not sure if it's the batteries or the flashlight but even after fully charging the batteries the light just blinks once when I try to turn it on.

looks black in the picture but it is really dark gray. when zoomed in all the way it becomes a square that you can see the filaments inside the bulb...

Light was as posted. Light brightness was what I was looking for. Plus the adjustable beam was good for a good distance. Update, the charger just went up in smoke. Thankfully I was here to catch it. Unfortunately the light is nice but now I can't even charge the batteries to use it. Updates Canwelum sent me a new charger and batteries, which is great since I wasn't sure what caused the charger to go up in smoke. Bad battery or bad charger either way I'm not going to be using either one. The new charger and batteries are working great. Thank you for the great service Canwelum!!!

lens fell out first time we used it. Customer Service's reply was to screw the end on really tight... um, the lens is gone so that's not going to fix it.
