You get what you pay for
I think the last set I bought a few years ago were made with durable plastic. This is made with the hard breakable plastic. So if they get dropped on concrete, they will probably shatter into shards.Still, it has a bearing spinner piece in the center of each unit, which wasn’t on the original one I had. So these are more fun to play with.People complain about the magnet strength. I thing it’s pretty strong. The problem is, if we had super strong magnets, these would cost much more. And if the plastic was much more durable, the magnets wouldn’t be able to match the weight of the plastic, and would have a weaker bond. So it’s really about balance. Balancing the magnet strength with the plastic weight, balancing the cost of the item with the kids who would get distracted after playing with it for five minutes (I’ve been playing with them all night and I’m 60).I don’t know what to say about the pattern wearing off. It hasn’t happened to me yet, but I just got them today. I did read that you can paint that clear waterproofing stuff over the items, but I think I would end up leaking it all through the bearings. So I’ll take my chances. Maybe use nail polish if I have to.Do I recommend them? At $4 a package like I paid, I think they’re worth it. I bought 4 packages, and 10 linked together in a big wheel is quite fun to spin on my finger. So, yes. These are a fun fidget item to play with, if you aren’t in church or a funeral. They can be quite noisy when they click together. It is hard plastic, after all.

Friend loves them
Got these as a gift for an ADHD friend and they're obsessed with them. You can mindlessly twirl them around your fingers and not worry about losing any because of the magnets. The plastic is lightweight at the same time, so they are good for your pocket on a daily basis. Cute color as well.

Helpful for kids that need to fidgit
These are great for boys with ADHD. We have purchased twice. One for our family and one as a gift. They have held up and allow them to fidget with little noise or disruption

Color wears off very quick
I didn't have these but for a couple weeks before the color started wearing off. I kept it in a cloth bag when not in use, so it's not like it was tossed into a bag or anything, it just wore off from regular use.The magnets aren't the best - expect about what you get from any other 6 magnet ring.

Fidget Rings
I love my fidget rings. They're so helpful for the easy ability to fidget with one hand while I take notes with my dominate hand. They make a little bit of noise as the magnets connect and reconnect. I prefer to just use you of them and spin them together around fingers. Quite fun. I'm very happy I gave them a shot.
