Against my better judgement I purchased this with no other reviews. I am the first I don't usually review my purchases but felt it only fair to warn other potential buyers! As soon I opened it, I smelled an awful, pungent aroma & knew it wasn't right. I then dared to taste a little bit on my finger & found it horribly stale and rancid. I have been buying Sumac as a salt substitute for several years so I know what it's "supposed" to taste like...NOT like this! This product is made in Turkey & is then shipped to a distributor in NJ. So my bottle had been sitting in a warehouse in either Turkey or NJ for many years!Of course it is non-refundable...so into the trash it goes! I reached out to the seller over a week ago and have not heard back. Save yourself the disappointment..Find another brand!

As you can see from the photos, the container is still sealed, but it is missing over a third of the product. I haven't used it yet, so I can't review the quality, but needless to say I was disappointed to see that the bottle didn't contain the full amount.

I needed sumac to make Muhammara & for a marinade in chicken ….so many choices on Amazon but I chose Anna & Sarah because they are a small company (I’m so happy that Amazon puts that on the listings ) . The sumac was super fresh , flavorful & packed in jars for ease of measuring and storing . I’ll buy from them again for sure !!!
