An absolute monster of a maul
Torn between this and the X27 (might still get that anyway) as my existing maul was pretty basic and was struggling. Previously got an X11 which is an absolute gem and splits most things without much effort, but 15" square chunks of oak needed something heavy duty.Excellent bite into the wood - the design of the head is clearly effective.Fibreglass shaft reduces vibration extremely well and is comfortable to grip due to the overmolding.Integral heavy rubber bumper just below the head of the maul, very useful for a mis-swing but also when you split something easier than you expected and the head travels through the target.Without doubt made splitting way less of a chore - didn't have to break the flow to use wedges.

Great axe at a fair price
I am using this to split tree trunks into logs for burning. With a little practice it becomes easy to use and is very effective. The wedge shape means that if the split isn't complete on first strike it can be driven in further using a lump hammer (or heavy striking object) to complete the task. Great tool for the job of splitting logs

Strong and Axecellent
I was looking in to log splitting axes and the reviews looked excellent for this axe. They're not wrong. This beast makes light work of gigantic cherry tree logs with minimal effort. It's actually quite insane.

Good weight however head became loose
First impressions were very good. Nice weight, anti vibration handle and the other side of the head can be used to knock wedges in, if required. Split logs with minimal effort, however, after a few hours use, the head has worked loose and started to make it's way down the handle, stopped only by the rubber over swing protector. Tapped it back into position but will have to check it regularly. Other than that, it is a powerful and robust splitting maul. If the head becomes to much of a problem I'll invest in a Gransfors Bruks 450

Splits like a pro.
Very happy with this product, was previously trying to split logs with a regular axe, the performance of this one is polls apart delivering consistent splits with ease.

Never had a x37 before its very good
Wish I had got this Fiskars splitting x37 years ago. Don't have to use the granade so much. Don't have to struggle to much splitting logs even nottey willow. Plus it keeps me fit not to heavy after a hour swinging but as a oap that's as much as I want.

Whack away!
This is great, I whack through some meaty logs, and can do for a couple of hours. Only downer is the rubber gaiter to save us, when you over shoot slips down the shaft. You have to redress this every now and then, just bugs me a bit.. otherwise great bit of kit for the big logs.
