Creative, inspired recipes!
Love, love, LOVE this cookbook! I've been vegan for about 3.5 months at the time of this initial review, and the transition has been fairly simple for me as my entire household is also following the whole food, plant based diet. I started with the Thug Kitchen cookbooks, a couple books from Isa Chandra Moskowitz (Isa Does It and Vegan with a Vengeance) which have all been good cookbooks with delicious recipes. I mention that because as popular and well-reviewed those books are, I did not personally review them because while the recipes were good, they were not so much that I felt a need to review them. THIS book, however, is amazing for a few reasons!First - I love the taste of what I've made! My first night in the kitchen with this book included me making 4 recipes - 2 sauces, some sweet potato fries, and the pad thai burrito. The taste was incredible! Above and beyond good, and amazing enough for me to come write this review.Second - this book seems to consciously reduce oil and sugar, even more so than the other vegan books I listed above. For example - most vegan French fry recipes include a little bit of oil to coat the potatoes so that the seasonings stick to the fries before you bake them, which does make total sense. What impressed me about this book was absolutely no oil was used in the fries. The inspired alternative in the recipe? A couple tablespoons of aquafaba - which is simply the liquid from a can of chickpeas. The seasoning adhered to the fries beautifully and there was no added oil! This was really impressive to me since it's kind of the next step to healthy eating - reducing oil and sugar.Third - despite aquafaba being in one of the recipes I mentioned above (which may be new to you if you're new to being vegan), this book does NOT have strange or hard to find ingredients. All of the recipes I have tried and the other recipes I have looked through have basic ingredients found at any grocery store. Yet the wow factor of the taste is there, and it feels like real food, because it is! What is vegan mayo anyway? Don't care, don't need it with this book! This book has many types of burgers, burritos, and sauces done in creative ways that just work. Pad thai burrito? Not something people have usually heard of, but definitely works in this recipe. It doesn't just work, it's absolutely delicious! The book doesn't include desserts or salads and only has a couple breakfast options and a handful of sides (like the fries). What this book does offer though is delicious and quick meals for any night of the week that are worthy of presenting to friends and family at gatherings. I highly recommend it!Update 12/27/17 - There are actually 3 or 4 dessert recipes though I haven't tried them. I've still enjoyed every sauce I've made so far! There was one unfortunate recipe I didn't like - a "game time" burrito that used celery seed. I guess I didn't realize how strong that flavor is and I was thinking it would fade into the background, but no, it was very much present and I don't really like celery. So really that's my fault for making something there was a good chance I wouldn't like instead of omitting the ingredient. Still 5 stars all the way, it remains my current go-to book for dinner!

Good variety of Recipes
I saw this book in the library and checked it out. I want to try many of these recipes so purchased myself a copy. I love the Crispy Zucchini Chips on page 175, very yummy. There are lots of vegan burgers, burritos and sauces to try. Good book to have on hand when I want to try something new.

A cookbook for anyone!!
I am so excited Sophia loves burritos as much as I do! I pre ordered this book because, I make many of Sophia's recipes from her Veggies Don't Bite blog AND it was being released close to my birthday and I knew this would be an awesome gift to myself. I drool every time I look through this book. You have made these recipes so easy and incredibly mouth watering, I mean look at those photos! The ingredients are staples in most homes which makes it easy to prepare ahead of time. Most of the burrito recipes can be doubled and used the next day for bowls to change things up. The desserts that are in the book, my two teenage daughters about lost their minds! We have had 3 recipes already, they are on the make again list, and the kids have 4 picked for this week! This book is amazing AF (pardon my excitement :)

Loads of Great Ideas but Odd Choice of Ingredients
The author is to be commended for her ingenuity and creativity in developing recipes. I have one teensy objection. Many recipes involve beans taken directly from a can, AND, the use of fluid from the can. These commercial products can have as much as one half gram of salt for a one half cup serving. So much better to soak and cook your own beans. Easy to do if you just drop the beans into water in the morning and then in the evening cook in a slow cooker unattended for four hours. Zippo. Done. No additives and no salt.

The best cookbook my family has ever purchased!!
Love, love, love this cook book. Not only are the recipes simple to follow and ingredients I have on hand, but she adds a personal touch with each recipe and says something funny or insightful with it such as even her picky eater likes it. The photos are beautiful and helpful. I tried the Down Home BBQ Burger last night and I must say it was delicious and her BBQ sauce recipe is the bomb! My husband can't wait to try more of her sauces like ranch and roasted salsa. My kids have already picked out the desserts they want to try and there are so many sides that we can finally agree on one to make. This Cookbook really has it all and made last night's dinner so simple with ingredients I already had on hand. Tonight's will also come from this book and my family is selecting meals, sides, and desserts for the next several weeks. I'm just happy it's making my life easier as a mom and my husband is happy he can finally eat "good" vegan food that doesn't taste vegan!

Excellent Vegan Cookbook!
I've been following Sophia De Santis' vegan blog, "Veggie's Don't Bite," for several years, and have enjoyed many of her recipes. I wanted some fuss free recipes that were casual, but tasty. I've never had much luck with making vegan burgers, regardless of how "World's Best Burger," they are.I still haven't made any other burgers yet, but the burritos! Oh My! The Phad Thai burrito is delicious. My husband and I ate it for dinner, lunch the next day, and dinner again, we loved them that much. I've made several of the other burritos--but I've only had the book for 8 days, so not much time to make all the recipes I'd like to make yet.I am determined to find a really great burger recipe. I'm guessing that if there is such a thing, it will be found in this book.
