I have owned several of these. In fact, I have three at present... the other two are "backup replacements" in case the one I wear now has trouble. It's reliable and very wearable. I hope they keep making these watches.

My favorite thing about this watch is that it has a full date display (month, day, year, and the day of the week). The owners manual is in Japanese though, so be ready to do some internet searching to figure out how to use all of the functions. The bracelet is very lite and kind of cheap feeling, but it is a cheap watch, and the lite weight makes it very comfortable to wear all day. The backlighting is the dim orangeish-yellow, 1980's looking incadesent light, rather than the bright blue "indiglow" looking backlighting, but that isn't a feature that I ever really use. So, it has some downfalls, but it is super comfortable on my wrist, and I love the full date display, so to me it is well worth the price.

Sleek, smooth looking, looks way more expensive. Received many compliments and they can't believe it's a Casio. Luv the retro style, comfy bracelet. Pity I cannot receive atomic radio signal in Africa.

This is not my first radio controlled watch, but the first with the rectangular rather than round shape. It keeps excellent time, and all functions are like the other shaped watches. It keeps perfect time with little effort.

This is my second Casio Waveceptor watch, but this one is a different form factor than my first.The first one was the WV-58DA-1AV "Waveceptor" Atomic Sport Watch. Lasted for me ~2 years, wish that it would've lasted longer. However, I went into a hot tub and that proved to be too much for that watch, even though it's supposed to be good to WR50M (50 meters), according to the watch face, and this was only ~2 feet under the surface. As a result, it went blank, forcing me to order another watch. That is Caveat #1 - if you're expecting the claimed water resistance, beware.Enter the "Casio Wave Septer [Japan Import] Radio Clock Super Illuminator Type WV-59RD-1AJF Silver" - I've had it for a few weeks now. Functionally, it's identical to the previous Casio, but I actually prefer the rectangular layout to the circular one. Yes, it's a slight bit bigger, but still fits comfortably on my wrist, does not look oversized on my arm, and is easier to read (especially with my older, bifocal-needing eyes). And yes, I can easily read it w/o bifocals.So what is Caveat #2? The color of the background light (see attached photo). I did some serious comparison shopping before I got to this watch; I did my research, or so I thought. One thing I never cared for was the orange background light of my older Casio. I hunted around for pictures and videos of my NEW Casio model, until I found a video that showed the backlight being used and was thrilled to discover it used a BLUE background light - PERFECT! I was so excited that this model had the blue light, which I loved from the days when I had Timex watches (for the previous 40+ years before my first Casio). I figured that since this was the Japanese version, maybe they upgraded the light color for this model. I was PUMPED!Imagine my disappointment when I opened the box, started using the watch, and saw that orange background light. I was SERIOUSLY bummed out, because after two years with an orange background, I was finally getting my blue background light again, then it turned out NOT to be so. I considered returning the watch but didn't want to start the hunt all over again, so I just decided to suck it up and live with it. :-|Hence my rating of this watch. It has great features, it's almost completely stainless steel, uses an excellent, easily-released and adjustable watch band, but it falls down on the water resistance and the background light, which is NOT the same on my watch as I found it shown on others. Would've been a 5-star except for the disappointments. If those two don't bother you, this watch will do you well.

Feels Hugh quality, looks dope. BTW to remove the watch links you gotta bend it and slide it out, very frustrating but worth it.
