I make a habit of 'reviewing all the books I read but only recently did I realize that the bit of paper that has given me most pleasure over many years walking the country land and footpaths around my home in rural Northamptonshire is a very battered OS sheet 223. This is simply a replacement. The Explorer 1:25,000 series is essential for country walking since it has the rights of way (those magic green lines!) and field boundaries that the !:50,000 maps lack but it has three defects. First, it is physically too big. Second printing on both sides might give you more map per pound but it makes the map very hard to use in the field. Third, get it wet and that's an end to it. Why not print on waterproof materials?

Arrived on time and well packed.What I like about these digital version OS maps, is you get a access code to reedem on your OS map app (if you have one on your smart phone) to build up your OS maps to have on your phone. Which is really handy.It's a OS map, what can you say about them, except it does what it says on the tin.

Not much can be said about OS maps. They are always of excellent quality, OS go out of their way to maintain accuracy, and the digital copy is a useful addition. I would have preferred the app to be able to rotate, but - it is not the app that is being reviewed here.

Just what I require for orienting.

New map at a fraction of high street cost (and OS direct sales as well). Free Android download of map using claim code on cover is neat and handy as well.

as always OS maps are always accurate and easy to read. If you are walking, cycling or horse riding this has got the detail and clarity that you need.
