The mast was what it was advertised as. Thought it was a little expensive but should be worth it years from now.

Works
I added tape to solidify the joints decreasing play in the joint. They worked for my application. I think they were a little on the expensive side.

Very sturdy.
I ordered this mast pipe for my Ham Radio antenna mount. This pipe is very sturdy and as it is only 1-1/4β pipe itβs lighter then a 2β mast so it provides a ver sturdy mast without adding extra stress to your mast-mount. I have no doubt it will hold up to the adverse Florida weather conditions.

Design change?...Is this really a super mast?
An older TV antenna mast I had turned out to be a real problem for a couple of reasons. Once an upper mast was slipped down over the reduced "crimped" end of a lower mast the weight and crimp were used to hold the mast in place and keep it from rotating. The problem with this was the upper mast tended to rotate any way and the friction of the crimp made it very difficult to take apart while up on the roof. So I ordered the "super" masts to solve these problems and they have worked perfectly. First, the crimped end is the same diameter all the way down to the "shoulder" where the crimp ends so the top mast slips smoothly on and off the lower mast without binding up. This makes them easy to handle on the roof. Second, because there is very little friction between the two masts, rotation is prevented by notching the crimped end of the lower mast to match a tab indention in the upper mast. I would recommend the super mast. You can tell someone experienced with masts thought about the design.UPDATE (July 19, 2015):As I had stated in my previous review (2011), I really like the notch design rather than the crimp design. In my opinion, the notch prevents rotation between sections and makes it easier to disassemble the pole. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I ordered a new mast section to add to my previous "Super Mast" antenna pole. To my surprise and disappointment I received a crimped mast rather than a notched mast. I don't know whether Channel Master changed the "Super Mast" design or the Vendor is selling a different mast as a "Super Mast". In any case, you should be aware that these newer masts do not have the notch design. I dropped my rating from five stars to three stars...as far as I can tell, this is just a generic crimped mast pole.
