The SWaver certainly has a nice medium range swimming action. I see this lure as nearly/primarily a surface or near surface lure (within the top 1 foot of the water column).I've caught fish on both the trout and bluegill pattern.I would prefer if it were a little more negatively buoyant in the water. It wants to come up more than I would like it to. It would probably be smart to replace the front hook with one that is a bit larger or heavier to reduce this tendency for the head lift.In the end, it's got a great swimming action - in the medium to slightly narrower range vs. some of the big bucks glide baits. This makes it a bit better for use in tighter areas (around cover), but probably not as good for wide open flats in clear water for drawing fish in from further away.Another glide bait that may fit in well for some people is the Matzuo Doragon Minnow, a 6" triple jointed glide bait. This bait has a very narrow swim pattern (less than 8" from outside to outside via a straight retrieve). But what I like about that lure (other than the price <$15), is that it has slightly negative buoyancy and swims a little bit deeper than the SWaver. The tighter swimming pattern is really a bit more realistic (IMO), and it allows for fishing much tighter to structure. With it's negative buoyancy, upon a pause and wait, it will dive down at a gradual rate.I use this bait and fish in small inland lakes in the northern midwest - FWIW.I recommend this lure.

First time i took this bait to the lake these guys where laughing at me until I casted it. A 5 pounder smashed it first cast a few casts later a 3 and few after that a big ole pike... Wish you could of seen their faces ohhh man priceless. These things flat out catches fish. Its not a miracle bait but well worth the money. I use a big 8 ft heavy rod so I can launch this big bait.

This is a killer glide bait, one of the best on the market in spite of costing a fraction of what many others charge. I was very glad to find it available from this vendor on Amazon when so many specialty fishing tackle stores are sold out of it. It doesn't matter if your body of water has trout or not, bass love this bait!

I have to say this hard baits catches fish. Frist time out takes a little time to get the right retrieve right,once u do it's on. What worked for me is 25 lb braid with a 12 flourocarbon top shot about 2 feet. Fish ponds that get stock with small trout and it's on!

Can't wait for spring to come so I can catch my P.B. here at the lake.

The waver 168 flat out gets bit! Ended up losing my last one last outing and luckily I was able to get a few the next day since they are on amazon!

Can't go wrong with the S waver 168.Anything from 2 lbs and up can't resist it
