Recorded at the Westfalenhalle Arena, Dartmund, Germany during the Dance of Death tour in 2003, DAEATH ON THE ROAD fully captures the excitement and electricity of a Madien show. Performing their greatest hits from their entire career infront of thousands of hardcore fans, this album is the release Maiden fans have been talking about and waiting for since early spring.

Vinyl Reissue and CD Review - Excellent Live show
I am an Iron Maiden fan. Period. I would buy this no matter what. I would most likely find a way to love this no matter what. However, I loved this on the first listen. The sound quality is excellent. I'm not sure what was changed but I found the mix on vinyl to be crystal clear. Is it as good as Rock In Rio or even En Vivo? No. Still, it is excellent. The CDs sounds great to me. Granted I have them played on a decent stereo (home or car) and not on my phone. The concert is one complete show as opposed to the compilation live sets from Live Chapter or Flight 666 which allows you to really get into the crowd vibe. The set list and ordering is fantastic. I like the new songs (you get six) plus the mix of older stuff like Wrathchild. Do you need another version of The Trooper? no. but they add some other gems like Lord of the Flies that do not appear on other live albums.Another appealing aspect is the show is 90 minutes long. It's the perfect length from my perspective. This live set is on my rotation of go-to albums.Very happy with the purchase.

One of Iron Maiden's best releases
I have no idea how this live CD received many poor reviews. I held off on purchasing this CD, based on the reviews posted on Amazon. However, I bought this Live CD and rolled the dice on one of my favorite bands, and it's a winner! The production, audio quality and performance is outstanding, second only to "Live after Death". If you are a Maiden fan, please take my advice and purchase this incredible live performance.

NO DISRESPECT TO MAIDEN
I, for one can take it or leave it, but not because of any lack of quality on the part of this, arguably the greatest classic metal band ever. The choice of songs on this was a bit redundant, as many are available in Live After Death, a live album compliled when Bruce Dickinson's voice was still in it's prime (it's not bad now, but let's face it, it was better back in 1985). It would have been better if the producers had chosen more of their newer song, rather than compile extra live repeats of songs that were better sung 20 years before.

For completists only
I paid a pretty penny for this to get closer to completing my Maiden dvd collection. It was a tour I didnโt attend, so that made me want to check it out. I was expecting it to be at least as good as the Rock in Rio dvd. However, by 2019 standards, the quality of the footage isnโt great, even worse it is badly filmed, constantly flicking from one up close shot of a band member to another, making it unwatchable, which is very disappointing. It is very hard to see the stage set or a get a good shot the band performing the songs together. Iโd advise anyone to get the cd of the concert instead, as the setlist is enjoyable and you even get Bruce singing some Blaze era stuff.

Valuable material
From the previous reviews I learned that the original release contained several errors. So I was lucky because I could order the corrected 2007 release. The program of the concert contains mostly tracks from their recent (i..e Dance of Death) album. The performance is magnificent as always. The stereo and 5.1 versions are distributed on two separate disks.I wonder why the 16 bit/48 kHz LPCM format was used on the stereo disk instead of the 24 bit since there would have been enough space on the disk. Anyway, the quality is still very good, you can clearly hear all guitar tracks (there are 4!).

If I had 1 DVD I'd be ecstatic with this one!
If I could only have one DVD, I'd be ecstatic to have this one. The sound quality is phenomenal, the track listing is superb, and as a whole it's out of this world!!! It's mind-blowingly good!!!
