Ample number of cards/sight words to practice with struggling readers
For too long I have been printing and cutting by hand my own sight word flashcards for the students I tutor. Index cards are too costly to continuously replace. Not all students need to practice sight words, and not all students (regardless of age) are at the same reading level. So this set of 520+ sight word flashcards is a great addition to my tutoring toolbox. I need not customize sight word cards to particular students as I can select an appropriate level from this set that ranges from K-3rd grade. I have Kindergartners that struggle with the simplest of words and others that are a couple years ahead of their peers when it comes to reading, so it’s nice to have a range of words to challenge each student. The kit has individual cartons of cards organized according to pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. The cards are a nice stock and glossy, so I hope they last a long time compared to my hand-cut ones! Each deck comes with a card explaining different teaching methods, and a card suggesting different games. All of the methods/games cards are the same regardless of the reading level. I do appreciate the suggested games and methods as it’s easy to fall into routine, using only one teaching method for flashcards. I think my students will love the variety of activities, and I think there are opportunities to create some of my own. The variety of activities will make these cards even more useful in my planned lessons.I think these cards provide good value for anyone who wants to help students practice reading sight words.

Fun & engaging
We’ve used many different iterations of flash cards in our household over the years and I have to say that the quality of these cards is miles better than others we’ve used. The cardstock is sturdy and will hold up to repeated use. The finish feels comfortable on your hands and the colors are vivid without being garish. I love that these cards are more interactive than just ‘here’s the picture, what’s the word?’ There are categories with divider cards to separate them in your deck. There are activities on the counting cards, dialogue on the ABC animal cards and a pleasing variety of fruits & veggies on the colors cards. Some of the subject material may be a bit challenging (who looks at a ladder and sees a trapezoid?!) but it’s good for memory building. There are some language differences, like describing a filled dump truck as a basket of a tip lorry. The majority of the printing quirks I observed were in the animals ABC cards. There are some typos as shown in the pictures I attached. The most confusing card for us was the L card— it depicts what appears to be a llama, but is labeled as a lamb. My preschooler refused to accept that the image wasn’t a llama, so thankfully both animals start with the letter L. Even with the typos and occasional quirky content, I still rate these 5 stars because you get a lot of educational bang for your buck!

Excellent set of sight words that covers several Grades from Pre K to 3rd Grade
This is the second set of sight words I intended to use by incorporating into after-school daily learning activities for my younger child who is diagnosed with language impairment. As I went through all those flashcards categorized as Pre-K level, 20% of them is what my kids learned in Kindergarten and the rest is pretty much what my younger child is learning right now. Then I had my older child who is a 3rd Grader with the strength of reading and comprehension (by teacher's comment) check on all the flashcards marked with 3rd-Grade level. She literally read it loud one by one, from one side to another, and confirmed that the only word she hasn't seen or used much is 'numerous', however my older child definitely knows the synonyms of this word can be 'many', 'various' and 'several'. So in short, I truly believe this set has covered most of sight words that are paired with each Grade's reading level, might not be necessary for those kids who have already advanced themselves in reading and writing, but for sure this would be a great tool for younger learners and kids who want to improve their phonological and phonemic awareness and skills.

Good Quality Set
I have been trying different forms of learn to read books, cards, and games. My kids are starting to pick up the pace and this really helped supplement their learning. I was finding that while reading books sometimes they would lose interest. These cards gave a nice change of pace. It felt more like a game and having a single word in front of them helped to keep them focused. Each card has a word printed on both sides and my kids would let me know if I skipped a side. The cards are a good size and easy to read. The word selection seems to be appropriate for the age range. My kids are still pre-K so we haven’t really used the older card decks yet. The only comment I have is that the cards are tightly packed in the boxes so you have to be very careful when storing them back in not to tear the box. Overall these are a great learning supplement that is great for a good age range. Currently we are on the learning to read mode but as they get older these can also be used for spelling.
