So has been nice to not have to worry about that now
I have had this about a month now and wanted to give it a little time to properly use it, before writing a review. I agree with another comment that the heat dial is close to where you hold the handle and I sometimes find my hand has turned up the heat when ironing, so I do keep an eye on this. I bought this to replace a Phillips one that I had 7 years and was spitting brown water more often than not of late, regardless of how often I cleaned it. So has been nice to not have to worry about that now. I have so far only used distilled water as I am in a hard water area so not expecting to have to clean out so frequently. The weight of the iron on its own and with the unit is roughly the same as my previous one, if not a tad lighter, so I have no issues there. I used to be able to take the water tank to the tap but am quite happy now to fill up this one with a plastic jug of distilled water which I buy at the hardware store for £3 for 5 litres. I find this is lasting about a month. The steam on this iron is better than my previous one and I am finding I can iron most of the clothes on 1 1/2 setting even jeans! I would recommend this iron and hoping now I have another 7 years of carefree ironing!

Why why why did I not buy this thing before!!
Well I have held off for ages on buying this style of iron as I didn't know whether it would be worth the financial outlay. My iron packed up so I went for it. Well it is worth the outlay. I LOVE it! Not only do I not have to keep filling up a tiny fiddly iron water tank but this thing irons like dream. I can motor through my ironing. As a family we generate a lot of ironing and I would do a couple of long sessions weekly. This iron has cut my time massively. It is lightweight and gets to temp very quickly. It cuts through creases in linen like a hot knife through butter. The steam trigger is in just the right place and delivers a lot of steam for one blast. The water tank seems to last for ages and is a snip to fill up. I have an extra long ironing board so I can pop it on the end although I find a small table placed next to the board works better for me. Yes I am a happy customer.

Couldn't live without it.
I have owned steam generated irons for years and bought the first 1 that needed a small mortgage to buy it thank goodness the prices have come down.I bought this 1 as my old Tefal gave up the ghost due to me living in a hard water area they do tend to get "clogged up" this might have been rectified with this new model. My son who has just started work in London and came home for the weekend actually used it on his shirt and then took it back to London with him hence I had to get another 1.It's probably the best I have owned on previous models due to the descaling feature I hope it stands the test of time.I would not buy any other type of iron since owning this type it halves the ironing time and is kinder on your back with it plowing through heavy duty creases with ease.

Highly Recommended
Best Steam generator iron I have had, to date. I've had 3 steam generators in total. Previous models have been a Bosch, which leaked brown water from the steam outlets to the extent I took it back to the shop & got a refund. Then a Morphy Richards, which the dogs knocked over & smashed on a tile flooring, which prompted me to buy this model. Can't fault it, after about a month's usage. Highly recommended.

Simply the best.
When my last Tefal steam generator iron eventually died (after years of hard work) I was seduced away to a different brand. Two months later I have swallowed my losses and reverted to this Tefal. What a difference - in ease of use, speed of ironing and end results.

Hm it is very good and does the job in half the time
Hm it is very good and does the job in half the time, however, its expensive. I only iron white sheets and white duvet covers (run a B & B) and the plate gets very dirty and its hard to clean, also, it does leak at the base, but all in all its ok, Im sure there are better less expensive irons but generally Id be very lost without it

If you want a steam generator, definitely choose this one.
Easily the best Steam generator we have used. Having gone through 3 in almost as many months that have failed after a boiler descale, this one in a different league. On top of it's power and speed, it also contains a removable anti-scale rod that actually collects the scale in the boiler, making for an easy cleaning procedure. Highly recommend running any steam generator on distilled water, especially if you live in a high water hardness area.

Good Value Product
This iron is smooth and efficient in its operation. The steaming facility works well and the Eco steam system is a bonus. The generator holds quite a lot of water so requires less filling up. As we are in a hard water area the anti calc system is very good. This model is based on a previous version which we had and it lasted years. The only down side is that the water tank does not detach from the generator and is therefore awkward to empty.
