Hy-Ko Products ST-5 Number & Letter Stencils, 5 INCH, Tan

I bought these HY-KO Products ST-5 Number & Letter Stencils, 5 INCH, Tan to put my address on three sides of an address post (a 4x4 white vinyl sleeve over 4x4 wood). I went with stencils instead of raised numbers because 1. For three sides it was a cheaper option than buying raised numbers 2. The painted on numbers do not stand off the post like raised numbers which means my lighted LED top cap won't cast shadows on all but the top # (vertically aligned numbers).The pre-cut numbers (I just used numbers) came out easily. They could be more thick, but I thought they were reasonable for the price. I tried a number out on our blue trash can and it looked pretty good. You couldn't see the black over spray of paint that gets between the stencil and painted object too bad. Lighter surfaces are more challenging. I put a few small magnets (using them only as small weights) on each number to help hold the stencil down and minimize the gap, but you will get over spray between. My white vinyl 4x4 sleeve showed the over spray a lot, but I just used some isopropyl alcohol and q-tips to wipe the over spray up. That worked pretty well as the light dots of over spray come up easy, but the intended areas where it is solid paint doesn't come off easily.For the price, I should have ordered a 2nd. My address has two 5's in it so I had to do the address minus the 2nd five and then later add the 2nd five. I saved them as even though I used each one 3 times and the fives 6 times, they have plenty of life left in them for future address retouching.

The only thing about this package was I only wanted the number stencils, but I couldnt just buy the number stencils, now I have a bunch of letter stencils. If there is a chance that the company can sell only number stencils I'll buy some more. I am renumbering the house numbers in our mobile home park, and need a lot of certain numbers. What I got works perfect and totally satisfied.

Bought this for house numbers on curb. Does it's job, but there tends to be underspray i.e. spray getting between stencil and surface so the lines are not totally sharp. When using press stencil against the surface, use gloves so paint spray does not get on your hands as you press down.

Love these. Used them to paint my address on my trash bins. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t get multiple uses out of them as they are thin cardboard. But I did, and they’re still in great shape. I painted both sides of two outdoor plastic bins with these. Definitely recommend!

These were perfect for the purpose we needed them for and that was to trace the letters and then paint.The letters are 5 inches long and reusable.

I purchased the product to make some signs, I know its 5inches, but it is too big to space out on a sign, I have big signs and cardboard but the letters are too big and you dont get a lot of spacing inbetween, it makes it hard to fit no more than 5-6 letters per line unless you use something really really big

I used these stencils to spray paint letters onto burlap. I was making a banner for a christmas parade. These stencils held up very well, even the ones I used multiple times. They held up so well that I can use them again and again. I highly recommend these stencils for any project.

These are advertised as cardboard. They are construction paper & won't lay flat. Had to use for a time sensitive project so can't return. These are a "One & Done". Can't use mutiple times. Don't waste your money!
