Very disappoointing quality.
Having restrung my violin with new Dominant strings, on first playing the E string snapped at the ball. Arranged a partial refund with Amazon for this string and ordered another from a third party seller. The following day, while playing (having put my old E string back on), the G string snapped at the ball! I now am returning the set and getting a partial refund for the remaining three strings. Once the replacement E string arrives, I'll have to return it as I'll be buying a new set of a different make. What a waste of my time!Very disappointed as I've been using Dominant strings for years. No more.

A GREAT CLASSIC
I have taught violin full time for around 20 years and have come back home to dominant. I have tried everything between and I can only say that Dominant is the most stable, clear and long lasting string available. IMO

Amazing sound
I was about to drop thousands on a new violin but I decided to try and change my strings first and what a difference it made to the sound quality! So I will hold off on a new violin purchase for a while longer. Phew.

Does the job!
I'm not a great violin player, my violin is a Stentor Verona. When I bought the violin it was strung with Pirastro Tonica, which are great strings, providing a great crisp and bright sound, for my needs (Irish Fiddle). However, I decided to re-string with Dominants and Wow my violin was transformed, what a great strong, still bright yet deeper tone.I realise that you must consider strings, bows, rosin, etc, etc, for your particular violin and needs but, I would highly recommend Dominants to bring on the sound quality of a low priced violin.

Huge improvement on student violin
Insane difference in my student violin (Stentor Student 2) over the factory strings. After letting the strings settle in for a day and tuning them to pitch, it sounds like a completely different violin. I also found that the strings are far more precise in their pitch gradients, which is useful if you're learning as it prevents you from being careless.I'd describe the sound of these strings as "pure". It's clean, and balanced, it doesn't sound particularly warm, maybe more on the brighter side, but overall very neutral.

New strings cheer me up
I’ve been using Dominants for 35 years so no surprises. They work well, last a long time and a have a beautiful tone about a week after being changed.Changing you violin strings is like food for the soul. I should do it more often.

Good Quality Strings
These were quite good. I put them on my older violin but would also put them on my children's cheaper ones. They are not as good as the Piastro but much better than most of what I've tried. There really is a difference in quality of sound, feel when playing, and wind-ability between the different brands. I would definitely recommend these strings for most violins. If you've a well-kept older violin, I would recommend the Piastro.

DOUBTS ABOUT THAT MULTI-STRAND NYLON CORE.
This four star review is mainly for the very reasonable price if it is of high quality, and for the extraordinary speed of delivery. I have not used it yet, preferring to continue with the slightly defective Dominant 130 (more expensive and elaborate) string which is already in my violin. What worries me, now that I can see it and handle it, is whether it really has "a highly flexible, multi-strand nylon core" as claimed here by Amazon. The manufacturer merely calls it "chrome steel", and it does seem to be just wire, no doubt made with a steel/chromium alloy, or coated with chromium. But I can't imagine several strands of nylon inside it (as there might be for a G, D or A string with a metallic exterior).I hope I am wrong in my suspicions. I would very much welcome an opinion (or facts) from somebody who really knows about these things.
