Product Description Malay Taste is a range that truly reflects the diverse flavours and cooking style that have contributed to the authentic taste of Malaysia. Malay Taste reflects the multi-racial aspects of Malaysia and its cuisine rich in taste and flavour. Each product has recipes on its packs, product history and tips on how to experience true Malaysian flavours so it is accessible to novice cooks! Laksa paste originated with the Peranakan culture that developed when the Chinese first came to the Malaysian Peninsula in the 15th century. This paste is used to make a noodle soup. Ingredients Water (28.4%), Palm Oil (13% ), Fresh Chilli (10%), Fresh Lemongrass (10%), Fresh Onion (10%), Fresh Galangal (5%), Soy Sauce (5%) (Water, Soya Bean, Wheat Flour, Salt, Sugar, Caramel Colour E150c), Sugar (4%), Fresh Garlic (3%), Fresh Ginger (3%), Yeast Extract (2.5%), Fresh Coriander Leaf (2%), Salt, (2%) Tamarind Paste (1%), Dried Shrimp Paste (0.5%), Turmeric Powder (0.3%), Food Acids (E270,E330) (0.3%).

Directions 185 g (1 jar) - Malay Taste Laksa Curry Paste185 ml - Thai Taste coconut milk1 lt - cold water or fish/chicken stock100 g - raw prawns (deveined and deshelled) or boneless chicken100 g - bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms or other quick cooking vegetables800 g - dry rice noodles.1. If using chicken, cut chicken into thin strips. 2. Pour the water into a pot, add Laksa paste and bring to boil. 3. Add the prawns/chicken and vegetables to the pot and bring the soup to boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 2 mins or until the prawns/chicken and vegetables are cooked. 4. Add the coconut milk, stir well and bring to boil. Cover and simmer on a low heat for a further 2 mins. 5. Meanwhile, prepare noodles according to instructions. Portion noodles in bowls and pour the hot Laksa curry over the noodles to serve. You may substitute prawns/chicken with more vegetables. Tip: Finish off with chopped mint, coriander and some thinly sliced cucumber. To reduce the heat, add more coconut milk. See more

Love this stuff. Use home-made chicken stock for a warming, rich, tasty curry.Otherwise any chicken stock will do. Use with prawns, chicken breast or vegetables, serves 2-3 and is so easy and quick to make.Don't buy ready meals - male delicious, fresh curry in minutes with this zingy laksa paste :)

A little bit different, but always well received.
Just boil up a jar of this with a couple of litres of water with as much veg and meat as you can cram in. After 30 mins lob a tin of cocunut milk in to nullify some of the heat and to give it a creamy taste and texture. I serve this at all our family gatherings as it is so easy and popular.
