The Complete Ninja Collection

As a kid I owner a few of the early editions
I never collected the whole set and I was a fan of Stephen Hayes as a teen back in early eighties. Now at 54 I bought the collection in one volume. Great books. I relate now that I have been and lived over in japan. My training under ninjutsu was from books and magazines from the early eighties and was based off martial art skills learned from taekwondo and shotokan. In those days there was no schools. Now with the online world the lessons can be learned from his website ninjaselfdefense.com where they he took the elements that are applicable to people of today and revised them to fit the needs of the people in our current world. As a kid this is what we was most interested in since we was learning self defense with empty hands and weapons. Not sport karate. Other parts of the ninjutsu art would be more related to under cover law enforcement, cia, and those involved with combat related professions. Most of the ninja art is not applicable to a person who just interested in self defense. It goes beyond hand to hand combat and weapons which maybe why it was not the huge hit to the public when everyone became ninja crazy from movies. For an over all view of the art this is a great book

Forgot how great the information was in his early book series
Over the years I lost the individual books I owned which makes up the books in this compilation I was going to go back and buy the individual books β¦ this not only lowered my cost Itβs much more convenient having all of that information in one book.

A meaningful revision of a classic work
I already owned and had read numerous times the original six volumes that this work is built from, so I wasn't sure if purchasing this one would have value to me beyond a collector's item. However, the author's introduction alone was very meaningful to me. Mr. Hayes' first book was written 34 years ago now, and the introduction provides his perspective on what has and hasn't changed in the world and in the art since he wrote it. As someone who aspires to not merely read about it but actually follow the path and example he has lived, it was invaluable for me to read about things from that bigger perspective. There is also something meaningful about having such a hefty tome of wisdom in one place, with one table of contents and one index.Lastly, I believe he has updated the language and descriptions of some things to how we talk about them now. This is definitely the place to go if you never read the original volumes, and it's worth a purchase and revisit if you did read them long ago.

I love how all six volumes are in one big book!
I love how all 6 volumes are in one big book! I had all of the six individual books and most even autographed by Anshu Stephen K Hayes himself from previous seminars I've attended in the past. Along with the rest of the Stephen K Hayes books I've had, the recent camp fire took them all with everything else including our home itself!I am learning a whole new level of perseverance in these times and there has never been a better time to start rereading Mr Hayes books!Time for a fresh start, "here" & "now"....Thank you Anshu!! Thank you for all of the wonderful memories!I hope our paths cross again!!!

Great book As with anything else in life
Great bookAs with anything else in life, it is wise to have first hand personal experience. So as we read this book, and begin to apply in practice, what has been given here, we will have a much better understanding of what's actually being offered. All nasty ninja politics aside. This book has a lot to offer. It's what we do with the information being made available to us in this book that's important. If we approach ready to learn, heart and mind open to receive, we will be greatly benefited by this book. As a basic manual of sorts, we can begin laying a base of foundational skills. And if we have a bit of a meditative and contemplative character, we will also find inspiration for deeper development. Intuition and imagination are a benefit, and this book is great for stirring them to wakefulness.

Good book blurry pictures thin spine
I like that it combines all the volumes from before on ninjitsu. I donβt like the blurry black and white photos for the diagrams. I donβt like the thin binding on the spine of the book.

A Must Have For Ninja Enthusiasts
Most in depth book on Ninjutsu I have come accross. I have read some of An-Shu Hayes' older books, this is a compilation of his more comprehensive works.

Poor print Quality.
The contents are what to be expected from Mr Hayes, but the print quality isn't great. It looks like scans of the original book pages, instead of from the original print source. Thick as a brick, so good to read on a desk unless you have strong arms.

Brilliant colection but slightly too expensive
I wanted to give four stars because of the rather high purchase price, but then again the contents of this book is so good that the five stars above are well deserved. Actually this book is a compilation of six earlier books, originally released between 1980 and 2007 in the "Ninja volumes 1 - 6" series. An incredible amount of well-explained techniques, including pictures, back-ground information, a bit of history and the more spiritual attitude the ninja needed to master in order to persevere in action.

Fantastic collection of the series. All that's missing is the excellent artwork that used to adorn the individual books covers!! ππ
