Bought this as 30 times a day our rug was creeping across the carpet towards our tv unit. I've only had it on for 4 hours but wow. It hasn't moved in the slightest!It is a giant sheet where both sides are slightly sticky. I flipped the rug upside down and lay the sheet on top then cut it roughly down to size, peeled off one layer of plastic cover and stuck it down (it doesn't stick ridiculously, just tacky as i said).When we peeled off the cover of the side to go on the carpet we did realise the material stretches slightly so had to trim more to make sure there was no visible excess, but flipped it the right way up and it's worked perfectly.Walked across it dozens of times this evening and it hasn't shifted at all. We also found that it is still easy to lift off and reposition the rug so very convenient.UPDATE: 3 weeks later and my rug still hasn't moved in the slightest! Brilliant!Further update: I bought this in 2018, we are now about to enter 2022, my rug still hasn't moved despite hoovering, carpet cleaning and kids running full pelt across it. 5 stars all the way!

Now then, I have used this before with good in fact, very good results. We had the fitted carpet changed a few weeks ago and we decided on a longer pile. Results are not as good, we are getting continuous drift. I would also like to point out our experience with the first lot that it left a mark on the floor when we picked the runners up which did not come of when we had it cleaned professionally.That was the reason for changing the carpet to start with.Louis

This product has to rank as the biggest waste of money ever, it is now in the kitchen bin and I will look for another product that actually works and does the job, or get rid of the rug.It was difficult to measure, difficult to cut, difficult to get the plastic coating off the back and the front, and then it didn’t stick to the back of my Egyptian rug.You’d get greater adhesion by smearing strawberry jam on the back of your rug and sticking that to your carpet.Keep your £20.00 in your pocket, or your bank account - and don’t waste it on this sticky felt!

Great product for the first week. Thereafter it started losing it stickiness and rug kept on bunching up. Making the rug a trip hazard. Not totally sold on this product.m

Used this product previously for a rug, it is the only product that actually works, bought it again for a larger rug and it didn’t disappoint

For the first couple of months this worked well. Before applying this underlay I would have to reposition the rug 2-3 times a day. This underlay fixed this initially but eventually the rug will move but just very gradually and then after 2-3 months it will have move to the point where you'll have to reposition the rug again - which with this sticky underlay isn't easy. Once you do repositon the rug however it now moves out of position every week or two, and more frequently every time after I reposition it as the underlay loses adhesion. So basically back to square one with a moving rug. The underlay worked well for 2-3 months, it then starts to move and since has become useless. And for the price it's not a workable solution. If it was a fiver I'd just buy another one, but it's much more expensive than that.

Specifically bought to anchor an off cut of carpet onto the same carpet, which is used on exiting the kitchen into another room, which kept walking across the room and was continually being put back in place. Since applying this underlay it has not moved at all! I have subsequently bought more of it to go under rugs and offcuts on a hardwood floor and on carpetted floor and they too haven't budged since laying it. Here are a few tips I've found when laying it:1) I didnt need to cut it to the exact size of the rug - its about 6inches to a foot short in some cases and it still works well2) The first lot came with the plastic backing only on one side, the second lot came with plastic on both sides which needs to be peeled off3) Cut to size first then place on your rug. Peel off backing by starting in one corner and then pull equally across the width, if its a large rug this is a two person job to keep the stuff in place on the back of your rug whilst the other person pulls off the backing. You may have to do this on both sides of the underlay, again a 2 person job to keep it in place and then you can both turn the rug over and put into its final position.Hope that helps!

I was quite skeptical about this, but my rug was driving me mad I was having to re jig it at least 3 times a day, it's a large heavy rug so I wasn't expecting it to move on the carpet so much.This item was smaller than my rug so we just placed it bang smack in the middle, leaving about 10 inches without the adhesive sheet on all the way round the edge.When we first pulled off the backing cover it didn't seem very sticky and thought we'd wasted our money, but it's been on a few days now and the rug hasn't moved at all.I think as it gets walked on it presses down and sticks better.Very happy.
