Don't be afraid of cast iron when the cast iron is Staub
Wary of cast iron cooking? Don't be with this ((rather expensive) cocotte. It's superb. Follow the basic cleaning and seasoning instructions and all is good. The food that has been cooked in this since purchased has been noticeably better tasting.A real pleasure to use and use use again!

Love this product!
I bought this for my son and he loves it! I have bought another oval shape 7 quarts Granadine color from the Amazon US website for my own use. Love it! Easy to clean and the food cooked evenly. Love the product and the color. I event bought the animal feature knobs!

Great size
I love the size and colour of this. It is easier to keep clean than the matt black version (got the grey one) and the size of the steamer is just perfect! Great for breadmaking as well and according to lead safe america free from heavy metals. I prefer staub over my le creuset. Less sticking and better bread.

Surpisingly versatile pan (but really heavy!)
One thing i must say about this up front is it ruddy heavy, i actually had to weight the bits separately on my kitchen scales as its so heavy (5kg limit), it actually weighs slightly less than 7kg. Its not a pan for anyone with weak wrists or no upper body strength. This is an awesome pan with many functions, it can be used as steamer but could also be a casserole dish or a normal pan on the hob. Ive used it to boil swede to mash whilst having the brussel sprouts (best vegetable ever) cooking in the steamer. I waas very impressed.- The pan heats up quickly- the lid fits perfectly on the pan and the steamer- the pan hold heat really well- the steam all goes into the steamer rather than escaping out of the lid- The nobbles on the inside of the lid mean the steam condensates all over the nobbles and then drips back into the pan, so the food cook quicklyThings i noticed, the knob on the lid gets hot, really hot, i need a mini knob glove for it or something. The steamer is hard to lift when its hot as it doesnt have handles. Thankfully its not as heavy as the other two bits!I have said it before and ill say it again, if you want to take your cooking to the next level you need decent quality cookwear. I never understood this until i got a decent frying pan and suddenly i could make omelettes (true). I hadnt noticed all my frying pans have a domed base, hard to make a thin flat thing in a non flat pan! This is an awesome (if really solid/heavy) multiuse pan. There is no way i can drain it when its full (too heavy) so i just lift the veg out with my wire scoop thing! I can cope when its just water.

Very versatile.
This pot is amazing, the first thing you will notice is that the box it comes in is heavy, very heavy. This is a solid pot that has a weight to match and this might be a problem for some people. It also makes washing it up difficult, I found it hard to move in the sink, especially when filled with water but I do have carpal tunnel in my hands which can make my hands weak. You can put this in the dishwasher but I'd suggest being careful so you don't overload the door with too much weight as it is heavy!! I really like that this has the steamer option and that this can easily be removed if you don't want to use it. The pot itself can be used on any hob or in the oven which is great, it means you can easily brown meat before adding the rest of your ingredients and putting it into the oven to slow cook. With the steamer, it is quite tall and so it takes up a lot of cupboard space in my kitchen but I think that it is worthy of that space as it can be used for so many things. It isn't cheap but the quality is obvious and although I'm not a big fan of cooking, I do enjoy using this.

Worth every penny!
My new favorite item in my kitchen.Suitable for any type of cooktop, even induction.Absolutely stunning design, looks super classy colour is beautiful and the whole product is so so so well made.Heavy so a bit tricky to clean in hands but you can do it in dish washer if you have one. Keep in mind that max temperature for a cooking with silicon ring is 200 degrees (silicon attached to stainless steel steamer).Diameter is 26 cm-5.25 L.Absolutely perfect stainless steel steamer for dumplings, I also used the pot for slow cooking in the oven- 4 h dish was super delicious. This piece of cookware is pricy but let me tell you that it is worth every single penny as it will last forever. At the end of the day I prefer pay a lot of money for a quality product which will last me many years rather than changing and buying same thing each year. Oh dear how happy I am with this goodie! Feels and looks so proper, what a quality! I think so far this is the best quality product I own in my kitchen. My absolute full and honest recommendation.

Very heavy, gorgeous looking pan
This is a beautiful pan. It may not be the most important thing about a pan but it is the first think you notice. It's a beautiful deep blue with a high sheen and it looks great! It is also very big; I hadn’t fully envisaged its size before it arrived, so it's quite a big bigger than I’d expected. It is also very heavy - much heavier than my le creuset pans and I definitely need both hands to lift it, so you can’t just be grabbing a trivet or opening the oven door etc while you’re holding it.That apart, it's a great, versatile pan and can go from hob to oven. Obviously it has a large capacity and the specially designed lid means it’s great at keeping liquid for slow cooking or holding in steam. The steamer part (which is easily removed) also has a large capacity and adds quite a lot of height to the pan, and the silicon seal ensures a good fit to the pan, and the lid holds the steam in well.I haven’t had this pan long enough to comment on its longevity but so far I’ve been impressed. Would I spend this amount of money on a pan? To be honest I'm not sure. Maybe when I've used it regularly for a year or so, only then will I be able to comment on Moneysworth, and that's the reason for the 4, rather than 5 stars.

Nice Staub Pot That is Very Large and Well Made
This Staub pot is large, well made and great looking. The quality is typical of other Staub items that are sold in the United States. I was originally worried because there was a disclaimer that said it may be different than Staub that is sold in the US, but it was not any different, although it might actually be of better quality. The steamer insert is fantastic, and I have already used it to cook seafood and with vegetables. The pot, lid, and steamer insert all seal very nicely with each other. I have no bad things to say about the pot or seller, but my wife did say that the lid is very heavy to her. You may want to consider that if you have issues picking up heavy items. Overall, a huge success with the item and the seller.

On s'y retrouve toujours.

Perfetto!
