Frozen Pies Defrosted When I Received Them
After ordering and tasting these pies I am having a hard time understanding why so many people find them delicious and good quality. I wonder if I got a different batch because mine were neither delicious nor good quality. I have never ordered something like this so I had no idea what to expect.Every time I have ordered a frozen product to be shipped it was enclosed in either ice packs ordry ice. These pies were enclosed in cardboard and no ice packs so I was not surprised that they werethawed when I got them.I ordered these gluten free pies for my daughter who has a gluten allergy. The reviews were mostly good so I trusted the company to deliver the product that was promised in a condition safe to eat.I was at the door when the pies were delivered. They did not sit outside at all. The outside of the box said freeze immediately, so that is what I did. The pies inside were NOT packed with ice packs or dry ice to keep them frozen in transit. All of them were totally thawed when I put them in the freezer.I decided to try the pies before I gave them to my daughter. I opened the box of apple pies. They were white, small and looked raw...not anything like the picture on the box. I followed the instructions exactly and put them in the microwave for the time required, 15 seconds. They still looked raw so I put them in again. I did that three times. The pies still looked like they had not been cooked. There was a thick layer of sugar on each of them. I ate one of the apple pies. It tasted like dough with an overload of sugar. There was little if any apple taste. That night and the next day I was sick. I felt like I had food poisoning. I have had food poisoning before and the symptoms were the same. I had not eaten anything else so I thought it must be the pie I had eaten.I decided to contact the company....not to get my money back or return the remaining pies....but to alert them that there might be a problem with the pies they were shipping without refrigeration. I was afraid that someone like my daughter, who has a serious problem with gluten, would become more ill thanI had.The company responded. To their credit they responded politely every time I contacted them. They asked for information as to when I received the item, how it was stored, best by date, if the box was damaged, when I consumed them, when I became ill. I answered every question. It was important to me that no one else get sick so I was willing to help in any way I could.Their response was to ask me if I had allergies......nothing about the possibility that the product hadbecome contaminated during shipping. I have no allergies....I told them so. I was a little angry that the only thing they came up with was that it might be my allergies....not their product.I also told them I didn't want a refund or to return the product. I only wanted them to be sure they were selling and shipping safe products to people like my daughter.I copied and pasted several Amazon reviews into the return letter that stated the same problem I had with the pies. The company response was that the majority of the reviews were because of improper storage or delay in delivery. The negative reviews did not change their mind about investigating the quality of the pies they were shipping. In that letter they also said that my pies were delivered within the 48 hour window that does not affect product quality....even if it does arrive thawed and looking raw. Therefore, the thawed pies were most likely not responsible for my illness.Though this is a company that makes gluten free products and I am always looking for good gluten freeproducts for my daughter, I will not order from them again. I think companies, especially those whosell food products, should pay attention to the negative reviews as well as the positive. They DID respond to my email. Some companies do not. That is worth one star.I did not ask for nor receive a refund or a replacement product.I accomplished nothing with my correspondence with the company. My goal was to enlighten the company about the possibility that their product or the way they shipped the product could possibly cause illness for the consumers.Food poisoning is pretty miserable. Sometimes even in the best of companies a bad product slips through. Even knowing that my letter encouraged them to step up quality control would have made my effort worthwhile. All I know is that I ate the Katz gluten free apple pie and within a short time was sick for two days.

Taste great, but look nothing like the picture
i like all four flavors, even those I usually wouldn't choose to eat. They actually taste like fruit pies! The pictures of the pies make them look like a slice of pie and don't actually show the product (always a bad sign). They are little squares (maybe 2 1/2 inches). The outside is brown and a bit sticky. The inside looks and tastes like the appropriate fruit and is about 1/4 inch thick.Though the package pictures are misleading, I really like these pies!

Perfect for those with gluten intolerance or celiac disease.
These mini pies are a gluten-free dessert option that is perfect for those with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. The pies are made with a gluten-free crust and filled with apple filling. One of the standout features of these pies is that they are individually packaged, making them a convenient option for on-the-go snacking or for packing in a lunchbox. The size of the pies is also perfect for portion control. In terms of taste, the Katz Gluten Free Apple Mini Pies have a delicious apple filling that is sweet and tangy. The crust is also flavorful and has a nice texture, although it can be slightly crumbly.Overall, I would recommend the Katz Gluten Free Apple Mini Pies to anyone looking for a gluten-free dessert option. Sinful indulgence
I bought the variety package and all three are delicious, but not worth the price as each little tart is gone in two bites, maybe even one if you take big bites. You do the math : 4 little pies (2”x3”) per box x 3 boxes = $24 = $1 per bite

Great flavor
Thesehavegreatflavor but I would recommend going less time in the microwave. Heating the recommended time, they came out too mushy. Although I guess that could depend on the wattage of your microwave.
