Not just for sewing machines: Also useful for PC parts and other expensive toys!
This oil is exacly the same stuff they use in the better personal computers to lubricate moving parts. If, like me, you overclock your PC, then this is the stuff you need to keep your fans quiet and working at optimum cooling performance. You usually have to take off the fan sticker, pull out the small plastic plug underneath (if fitted) and put in a few drops of this oil every six months or so. There's a few step by step guides on the internet: Google is your friend.I've already saved money on some 3 year old hard drive enclosure fans that were making a racket: I thought I would have to replace them because they were worn out, but this oil fixed the problem in minutes! The issue was (and usually is) dried out lubrication. Also, sewing machine oil is usually better than than the stuff you find on cheaper computer kit: manufacturors sometimes use a thick grease that will never lubricate because it just sits there as a dollop of goo away from the moving part. Sewing machine oil flows even when it is cold, so you also remove the start-up drone that even brand new fans can make until the default lubricating grease warms up.If nothing else, it will certainly stop your noisy graphics card fans getting noisier with age, and prevent the dreaded 'sticking fan on my really really expensive graphics card/CPU caused it to overheat' disaster.Oh, and if like me you have lots of other 'grown up' toys (RC helicopters, airsoft, etc), then this stuff is perfect to keep all the small or close fitting parts moving correctly without premature wear.NB - This oil is obviously not a toy, but I had to go along with Amazon to award the stars :)*** Edit July 2012 ***The bit about 'dreaded sticking fan on GPU' actually just occurred for me. On cleaning my PC, I noticed that one of the two fans on my MSI Radeon 6870 was no longer turning at low speeds, and rattled at high speed: it was clearly on its way out. I simply pushed the oil nozzle under the fan (it was a tight squeeze!) and gave it a few squirts, then forced the fan to rotate for half an hour by setting the fan speed to 100% through MSI Afterburner. The fan is now quiet and generally back to normal. This oil is a lifesaver!

Does the job
The little bottle of oil that came with my hair clippers ran out...so I bought this as a replacement....that was ten years ago in 2011...its now 2021...I'm still using the same bottle for my clippers! So yes..depending on its use..you could say it lasts!

Nice oil and nozzle, but the cap does not really seal
The bottle is a nice size and the nozzle is long enough to get everywhere. Oil is light and easy to apply. The only issue is the cap. The cap actually fits and seals onto the bottle body and not onto the nozzle tip. So it does not seal the top of the nozzle. The bottle has a deep groove around the base of the nozzle and this catches any oil which drips. The cap clips onto the groove's outside ridge. If you leave the bottle on it's side oil will flow out into the inside of the cap. When you then take the cap off any spilt oil is there. Shame as I wanted to store the oil on it's side in the base of the Singer under the sewing machine as there is nowhere on it where I can store the oil upright.

A handy lubricant that has saved me twice!
Well has this M/C oil comes in handy!!I originally bought this to top up the lubricant on my NZXT 200mm PC fan that had started whining. NZXT in their wisdom decided to stop manufacturing this fan. Thankfully it worked a treat & still works 2 years later! Now we come to 2018. Having a clean out I decided to sell my Logitech G27 steering wheel what had been collecting dust for 2 years or so. Given it a quick test I discovered squeaking coming from the dual motors. What the hell is with my stuff seizing!! After carefully and omg nervously stripping it down I lubricated the motors. After putting it back together good as new.I sold the said wheel for £90. If not for Hemline M/C oil my PC case and G27 Wheel would more than likely be at the dump.Thoroughly recommend

Lovely quality machine oil has rescued my poor old sewing machine.
Good quality sewing machine oil.My poor old machine, which I have had for over 40 years was showing it's age and in fact I thought had reached the end of the road.It had started to break the upper thread every time I tried to sew. Some of the parts had seized up completely.I checked out some of the Youtube videos and discovered that it probably just needed to be vacuumed out to remove all the lint from sewing jobs and oiled. Worth a try!i had become very attached to my old machine which has served me well for so long so I was absolultely delighted that this small maintenance job cured the problem. This oil comes in a handy little bottle. The nozzle, which is nice and narrow has to be pierced with a pin and then the oil can be easily dispensed into the oiling points of the machine.Great little miracle cure.
