Exactly what I need!
I’ve bought a lot of books. Lettering books, doodle books, bible journaling books. And they’ve all been more or less great.Don’t get me wrong, they each had something to offer. I learned lots. But here’s the thing: there was also a lot of stuff I don’t do, and probably never would. And I love inspiration as much as the next instagram girl, but sometimes the line between inspiration and “you’ll just never be that good, darling” is a pretty thin one.As much as I love looking at mixed media art, I’m just going to come out and tell you right now that that is not my thing. Frankly, I do not have the time or patience. And I don’t want to have to plan ahead. I want to sit down with my bible or prayer journal and get stuck in. I don’t want to gesso a page and dry it then paint it then dry that ... Lovely, but not for me. By the time all that process is done, I’ll probbaly have lost interest or just scribbled my notes in my regular handwriting.I am not rich. I simply can’t afford a limitless supply of stickers, stamps, paint, washi and kits. But I still want to bring a somewhat creative touch to my journaling. That’s where this gorgeous book comes in. Stephanie starts off giving you permission to play and practice. “Nothing hand made will ever be perfect”is my very favourite quote from the book. If you want perfect, print it.If, however, you want playful, fun, creative, then buy this book! There is nothing in here that requires a ton of money or materials. In fact, most of it needs a pencil, eraser and pen, and the only limit is your willingness to let go of trying to be someone else. You can of course paint and colour and do all the stickers and glue and glitter and what not and Stephanie does go into some stamping and watercolours etc, but I absolutely promise that you do not need to be a professional artist to enjoy this book!I got mine yesterday and I’ve spent my Saturday playing around, doodling, drawing letters (that’s right, another great quote: not hand lettering, which immediately conjures up the idea that you need an ink well and a flex nib pen and amazing dexterity and talent)Drawing letters is whatever you want it to be! There’s load and loads and LOADS of tips and techniques in this book and I guarantee that you will not regret buying this.

inspiring and encouraging book
This is a very encouraging and inspiring book for anyone wanting to start faith journaling. She doesn't overwhelm you with too many details but gives lots of helpful hints and inspiration how to start but also encouragement to find our own way in it rather than copying her. The book arrived right on time and in good condition. Thank you.

Paper Thin on Content
Of the three Bible journaling books I’ve seen, this is the most insubstantial, which is saying a lot given that one of the others is also very weak on content. This one wastes space on whole pages that are blank, so you can write on them, pages of hearts or very simple flowers to copy that any child could draw without prompting, and two-page spreads for chapter titles that contain virtually no content at all. There are pages of Bible quotations and quotations from other sources that are supposed to be inspiring—why? If the point of Bible journaling is for people to engage more deeply with their Bibles, why would you not even read the Book for yourself, but just rely on someone else to find you a verse? There is very little about anything other than Bible journaling, despite the title, and the many pages of templates and decorated paper at the back are nothing you couldn’t find in better quality either on the net or in a stationery store. There is very little in the way of help with techniques that isn’t incredibly basic.Like so much else about the Bible journaling movement, this seems mostly about making a fast and easy buck for the author.
