Don't Like the Newer Tube Container
I've purchased this many times before, but a little while ago they changed the packaging and it's almost impossible to get all the product out of this newer vessel. In my opinion, the value for the money has decreased. The company may possibly be saving money by using this newer type of tube. I hate trying to squeeze liquid products out of a tube-like container because quite a bit never gets used and is wasted. The sulfur mask is a great product. It also can be used very sparingly under makeup to keep oily skin at bay.

Very similar to Proactiv’s Purifying Acne mask! 👍🏼
(UPDATE AT END) If you’ve ever used Proactiv’s Skin Purifying Acne Face Mask & Acne Spot Treatment (with 6% sulfur) you’ll love this one by Dr. Dennis Gross!! It’s almost EXACTLY like it, but seems to have more skin-soothing ingredients in it, like aloe and safflower oil. This product has 5% sulfur, and comes in a 1oz tube for $28; the Proactiv mask has 6% sulfur, and comes in a 3 oz tube for $38. I feel like the Proactiv one is effective but dries my skin out way too much. It also gets super hard and cracks when dry, whereas this one dries but doesn’t crack and pull my skin. I love how soothing and cooling it feels, and keeps my skin feeling so soft! This isn’t a mask to use over your entire face (you COULD, although it clearly says to use on “Affected Areas” and not on large areas of skin). It’s meant to be used on breakouts or smaller areas. You can use a thin layer and leave it on for 10 minutes, OR apply a thick layer and wear it overnight! Once it dries and hardens, it pretty much stays put. It’ll rub off a little bit on your pillow, but not too bad.I have some stubborn hormonal acne that has been breaking out around my mouth (wearing masks all the time isn’t helping!) and I just ran out of my trusty Proactiv mask. I’ve used some of Dr. Dennis Gross’ face products before and had great results. This mask smells therapeutic and feels cooling when applied. I thought it might have camphor in it, but I don’t see that listed. It has that kind of smell though (like Campho-Phenique cold sore treatment). It’s even gentle enough to be used 3x/day. I’ve been using it twice a day, morning and night, plus I’ve worn it overnight a couple times on a few spots and around my nose. My breakouts are healing and also WAY LESS RED!! Yay! If used in conjunction with acne patches, my dry/scabby zits seem to heal faster! WOOHOO! 👏🏼🙌🏼Give this stuff a try if you have stubborn acne, “mask-ne” (who EVER thought that would be a thing?!), or even large pores. I use this around my nose where I seem to have some enlarged pores, and it does help shrink them in size. This also has a mattifying affect, so if you get oily in your T-Zone, try using this on your forehead, down your nose, and even on your chin. It reduces shine and tightens up pores, yet keeps your skin feeling baby soft and hydrated.I honestly can’t say anything bad about this stuff, besides the fact it smells a little “medicinal.” It’s also pretty tough to read the tiny orange font on both the box and tube; although, my 38 year old eyes have a tough time reading most small print these days! 😅I know $28 seems STEEP for a 1oz tube, but a little goes a LONG way! You don’t need much to get big results! My trial sized Proactiv tube (also 1 oz) lasted me a couple years.**UPDATE: so, oddly enough after using this mask for 10-15 mins the other day, my skin has decided to break out in huge surface-level zits all over the areas I applied this stuff (sides of my nose, around my mouth, chin and jawline). AGHH! However, I talked with a dermatologist friend of mine who said sometimes, masks like this can draw the bacteria closer to the surface (which is what you want), leaving you with breakouts a few days later. She advised me to continue using this because she actually recommends this one to her clients! I’m going to try leaving “thick dots” of it on the actual zits themselves overnight for a few days to see if it helps dry them out and reduce their size. Sometimes things look worse before they get better, she said! Thanks for reading! I hope this was helpful!! 😉

Helps My Pimples Go Away Quicker...
This comes packaged nicely. It has an outer box that the tube comes in, which I always like. The product is in a squeeze tube. There is a safety seal under the cap, which is great! I’ve noticed too many products I get don’t have safety seals, and I don’t like that! So whenever one comes with a safety seal, like this one, it’s appreciated! The tube is not too big (1 oz), but it’s for acne treatment and you’re just supposed to use it on the affected area. I only get hormonal acne, which is a pimple here and there on my chin and around my mouth area, plus you on,y have to use a little, so I feel it’ll last a decent amount of time. The product is a thick, white, clay type feel. I squeeze some out, and dab it onto the pimples. The directions say you can spread a thin layer over the area, leave it on for 10 min, then rinse off and can do this 1-3 times a day; or, you can apply a thicker amount to the area to treat a specific spot, keep it on through the night, and rinse in the morning. When I got the product I had a couple big pimples, so I applied it just on those and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning and washed it off, I noticed they had dried up some and were smaller. So I was happy about that! I continued using it like that for a few days until the pimples were gone. I do feel like it helped the pimples go away a lot faster than if I hadn’t used it. Next time, before my hormonal acne usually acts up, I’m going to start using it as a mask, putting a thin layer over the area where I usually end up with pimples and leaving it on for the recommended 10 mins and then wash it off. I’m hoping it’ll stop the pimples from coming, or at least end up with smaller ones! I’ll update the review if this does help stop them or I end up with smaller than usual.I really like that this didn’t make the areas I used it overly dry. So many acne products I use tend to dry me out so bad where I use them, I’m not sure which is worse - the pimple I had or the extremely dry area I end up with. So, whenever I find one that helps but doesn’t dry the area out too bad, it’s a win!Overall, I think this is a good product. For me, it’s expensive for 1 oz of product. I do feel like other kinds of acne masks and spot treatments that are cheaper that I’ve tried, help make my pimples go away just as fast. However, there aren’t many that don’t overly dry out the area I use it in. Since this product doesn’t overly dry out the area, that’s a huge benefit of it to me! If this is able to help keep them away or be smaller from the start, then it would be worth it to me since I only use it in a small area, I feel it’ll last a decent amount of time.
