I bought this CD really for one track - Son of Aleric, which I'd not heard before. Only recently did I come across it on Youtube. The album is OK (shows you can't always go back!).But it does show, IMHO, how record companies try to take advantage of their customers through devious 'collections'

An excellent compilation, maybe not containing all their greatest hits but it rocks all the way! For those who want the best songs made in the 80's this is an excellent choise.

Most Purple fans prefer the MkII line up as I do having seen the band perform at Portsmouth Guildhall on 1972 as a 12 year old. This is good but not quite the 5 stars music of the early 70s band, Good nonetheless. Good selection of tracks.
