No, the built-in battery is not removable :)

Q: How long does it take to calibrate?

It's a nightmare with an iPhone 7 Plus. You'll find that even if you calibrate it, by the time you get it back out from the previous time you used it, the gimbal will spin around like crazy and won't remain balanced. Furthermore, even when you've calibrated it (and therefore don't want to readjust it), the Smooth-Q is so poorly designed it won't even fit back in the molded carrying case. Very disappointing.
