we have two of these, one for the front and one for the back yard - keeps the house hidden, tidy, easy to coil up and use. the foothole for holding it down could be a little bigger for a size 11 foot, but other than that i have no complaints. just be sure to drain the hose and connection point for winter or it will freeze and break!

We now have two of these hose reels due to their extreme ease of use. The roller guide that distributes the hose across the holding reel prevents a build up of the hose in one section. All one has to do is feed the hose to the reel while turning the handle. It's so easy even a retired firefighter like myself can operate it.

Great hidden hose reel. Looks and works great. I paired it with "Bionic Steel 100 Foot Garden Hose 304 Stainless Steel Metal Water Hose" and they work great together.

Amazons price of 48 dollars for this hose reel is the best I have found, and includes front door delivery. I wanted an enclosed hose reel since the sun can destroy a good hose in a year or two. This keeps the yard and garden neat and protects the hose. This is the second one I have purchased, the first a slightly larger model. This model doesn't have any means of securing it to the ground, so when it is empty, it jumps around a little bit while reeling the hose in until you reel a little weight in it. I solved the problem by placing a few large rocks around the base of the unit, which makes it blend in better too. I only wish that someone made a metal unit, but I have never found one.Some previous reviewers may have made the mistake of leaving the water turned on and pressured when not in use. Expansion might make the connections pull apart, but I have not had that problem since I turn the pressure off at the house valve when not in use.

Received this item just over 1 month ago. Worked fine out of the box but no just makes a grinding noise when trying to reel in a mere 50ft length of hose. Has been used very lightly by an adult. I am now outside of the Amazon return window by 2 weeks. Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage.Update- I was able to contact customer service at Suncast and was very pleased with the service. I described the problem and received parts and schematic within 2 days. I needed to call customer service back and was able to deal with the same person- Laura- who spoke perfect English, not an offshore call center. After replacement parts reel works perfectly again. I am revising up to 4 stars. I have been generally very pleased with my other Suncast products and feel I can easily get support again if I have any more problems.They here sad that there product didnt work so they gave me a free pool supplies holder

Excellent replacement for the steel hose reel I had attached to my shed..after 4 years the reel controls (the key to these things) froze up and rusted on me..even though I took precaution in the winter to protect it...since this reel is plastic...and that has it's own problems...what I found bad immediately was the "leader hose" they include...it did everything it's not suppose to..after 15 minutes I replaced it with one of my old ones I had and it worked perfectly. The Hideaway will walk on you...it's a 100 ft of hose you're pulling...so I made some adjustsments for that..it reels back the hose very nicely...I won't go into in this review, but my adjustments, plus MY leader hose have turned this into a really nice hose connection reel for me and my wife. Glad I got it...but I knew I'd have to make adjustments and I did.
