This is a bit smaller than I thought, but that doesn’t matter. It’s heavy and solid, and really flexible so it works well for its purpose. Very happy with this purchase. I plan on using it to hold my books open while I knit. (The ONLY thing I’m not fond of is it has a shiny rubber texture that will attract (and grab) pet hair, which will drive me nuts. But that’s more of a ‘me’ problem, haha.)

This is essential for studying when you're reading from a book that doesn't lie flat, but you need both hands for note-taking. The ends are way more weighted than you'd think, and the silicone is grippy, so if you are at the very beginning or end of a book, this will hold it flat while you read. That it is a free-standing thing vs. a book stand means you can position it however suits your reading style best; if you want to put it at the half-page point, the bottom, or the edge, it doesn't matter, It will work no matter what. Plus, it's portable, just throw it in your bag, and it doesn't take up any room, so you can have it on hand for whatever you may need if you study outside the house.

I've wanted to have a book weight for years. I do a lot of reading, note-taking and sketching. It can get tiring trying to hold a book open at the same time. Many book weight are more expensive than I care to spend on something that will be pushed around my desk. This is heavy enough to do the job. The surfaces are all smooth so they don't damage the book.I wish I'd discovered this sooner.

I had this Bookbone marked as something I wanted for two years, it is crazy that I waited that long to purchase it. It is Cute and Works. It keeps the frustration away of books that refuse to stay open. Glad I purchased it.

If you're skeptical that this lump of rubber is some obvious scam -- "how could this do something that my left hand or my phone can't already do?" -- then listen: I am a university student, and my friends are always asking to borrow the "flippidy floppity" to prop open their books. I use it every day. Buy it.Poorly-bound books are well suited to this product: instead of torquing the pages with an awkward left hand or a pen, just place this thing down. Incredibly simple solution to what might otherwise result in delicate pages getting shifted around.It produces a satisfying, solid thwack when you hit something, be it a table, a wall, a column, or a friend's back.My ONE scruple is that it, being rubber, collects dust on its surface. I have a dusty backpack full of shattered cough drops, so I always have to blow it off like an artifact and rub it against my pants for a moment to clear it off. But no big deal. Buy buy buy.

It doesn't slide off the book if at an angle. And I know I will get how to turn the page with one hand after a little bit of time.

Not flexible like the leather ones but works well. Some I've bought have been too light but this one is heavy enough to hold the book open.
