I spend a lot of time outside and usually in sandals, so wanted something with tweezers & a magnifying glass, and this thing has come in handy for not only that, but so many other uses. It’s been there when I’ve needed to punch an extra hole in a belt, or when I’ve needed a scissor real quick. All the pieces feel like good quality.

The Explorer is a four layer Swiss Army Knife (SAK) putting it mid-range in size and weight. What sets it apart from most of the other SAKs are the magnifying glass and Phillips screwdriver. The magnifying glass is really an excellent one for which I find many uses. The Phillips driver extends out of the end of the tool for a more natural orientation and better access to tight spaces than the more common placement on the back of most SAKs where it forms a T-handle that might not always fit in tight spaces. For more torque, the Explorer Phillips has a detent at 90-degrees. The multi-purpose hook is great for boot-laces, twisting wire, and lifting greasy bicycle chains back into place. The corkscrew, in addition to its named duties, is wonderful for untying stubborn knots in rope. Like other SAKs, the Explorer also has a large and small blade, bottle-opener, can-opener, slotted screw drivers, wire stripper and more.

This is a small tool that should be in every woman's purse, and in the glove compartment of every car. I gave it as a gift to a young woman who was absolutely delighted with it.

Typisches Victorinox. Die Lupe ist aus Kunststoff, erfüllt aber durchaus ihren Zweck. Besonders gut gefällt mir die Position des Kreuz-/Phillipsschraubendrehers.Gewohnte Qualität, wie immer!

in passato ebbi un victorinox per 15 anni che poi lo persi nella sabbia al mare e da allora sentivo la sua mancanzadopo anni mi son deciso di comprare un altro Victorinox .la qualità è sempre la medesima da anni .. riconosco gli stessi materiali solidi di quando ero piccolouna delle poche cose che non son cambiate negli anni...l'assemblaggio è impeccabilecon mia sorpresa la piccola lente di ingrandimento che ho preferito alla lama a seghetto che aveva un altro modello analogo, si è rivelata meglio di quanto mi aspettassi: se avvicinata all occhio permette un ingrandimento ravvicinato veramente preciso e senza sbavature né distorsioni nella visione .... pur essendo in materiale plastico è una lente fatta meglio di quanto ci si aspetti .ben oleato e senza graffi l' aspetto e impeccabile e le lame son già affilate e utilizzabili da subito!Bella la Forbicina che si snoda su un perno a chiodino pressato, garantisce un ottima stretta tra le lame ben affilate della forbice che permette di tagliare le cose senza che scivolino tra le lame , inoltre la molletta di ritorno è gagliarda e scattante: la migliore forbicina che ho mai visto sui coltellini multiuso; su altri coltellini spesso le forbicine son pressoché inutili mentre questa e perfetta...ottima la trovata di bloccare anche a 90 gradi le lame dei cacciaviti che credo sia una cosa relativamente recente perché il mio vecchio victorinox di tanti anni fa mi pare che non lo facesse, invece sia il cacciaviti a stella che i due a taglio, possono essere aperti a metà e hanno dunque una prima posizione di bocco a 90° per usare il temperino come un manico a T e avere più torsione nelle modalità cacciaviti...
