Warning: this is a shortened version of the original
I wanted to get my hands on the original 'novella' after I knew it is behind Pink Floyd's album 'Animals'However, after this was delivered I was surprised that it is so short (about 50 pages) with large font and illustrated pages. To my worse surprise I soon realized that this was a 'retold', and much shorter version of the original. And the book cover is so MISLEADING that it doesn't mention that, only in the 3rd page of the print it mentions "Retold by Tony Evans".The least could have been done by the publisher is to include this fact in the outer cover.

Doesn't feel like a book, more a thick pamphlet
The size is smaller and narrower with really small print, paper is thin and feels strange. I wish I had read the specifications before buying, but then the price was the cheapest so that should have been a red flag.If you are a book lover and enjoy the feel of a book then I wouldn't choose this supplier/publisher.

Political Satire at its best! Einstein once said
Political Satire at its best !Einstein once said, "If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself."If anyone says Politics is complicated, just give them this book. This novel is put cross through the eyes of Farm Animals who want freedom from Oppressing Humans.Such is the simplicity that anyone who is a casual reader will understand much about Politics from this novel.George Orwell has masterfully demonstrated the harsh realities of the fake world we live in where we all think that we are free but yet we are slaves.

A must read book!
'The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.'Animal Farm is an amazing work by George Orwell. In this, he makes use of his stupefying imagination and prowess to exploit his wit to throw light on the tragedy of modern history. The book deals with the uprising of animals against humans eventually becoming the one to the extent that it becomes difficult to differentiate between them. The book is a satire on the hegemony of the humans first, and then, of the pigs. A short book with loads of intellectual food to feed your brains!

This book has never been more important
1984 is coming... I think Animal Farm just happened! In this weird time of different news and decisions being made every day, reading Animal Farm can open our eyes to what is happening around is. We have our very own Napoleon and Squealer, making their own rules and changing these whenever they need to.The quality of this edition is superb. Would look amazing in a personal library. Text is a nice size and there is great additional content. Well worth a buy! No spoilers here, just buy it and read it, you really won't be disappointed.

A Timeless Classic
This is only a short novel, stretching to just over one hundred pages, written in simple English, but with a very powerful message. It is easy to read.Although set in rural England it is a thinly veiled critique of Stalinism written at the time when the dictator was at the height of his power and in integral ally in the fight against Hitler. A little understanding of European history during the 1920's and 1930's is necessary to make the parallel connections, but the plot still works without this knowledge. This is a story about how the less fortunate can become victims of the manipulative. It is about the abuse of power and how the unscrupulous could brutally exploit the willing. Unlike the sub-title it does not have a fairy-tale ending. The introduction and the two appendices [compelling essays in their own right] give a nice insight to why the author wanted to write this story and the original Establishment objections to its publication.

I wouldn't bother with this....
Got this book for my daughter as she is doing her 11+ and it was recommended that she read this book. Not too impress as it has many grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.DO NOT buy. Some of the sentences didn't make sense and it was as if it is written in a different language and translated in English. Wasnt impressed. Avoid this book. The quality of the paper it is printed on is also quite poor too. Not worth it.... it is cheap but not worth it....
