Lovely item grandson will love it
Bought this item for grandsons birthday as he’s going mad for it. Looks strong and sturdy , however do feel it’s pricey for what it is , got it with money knocked off and still feel it was pricey. Didn’t get it out of packaging as it’s a present but happy with product. Listened to the sounds it makes too but also feel that it could play longer. Service was brilliant very efficient ,packaged well and arrived on time.

Robust enough for a 3 year old?
This is a mix of good design ideas and disappointing end result. The transforming ladder was very stiff to lift up initially and even stiffer to press down. It did ease off after a few operations such that our 3 year old grandson should now be able to operate it but the motion is very rough. The wheel plastic material could also be better so they turn on hard floors and don't skid. On a safety note, the listing states it takes CR123a batteries. This is incorrect. It takes three LR44 button batteries however there is a screw that secures the battery cover. I know this because the sound and lights did not work on the toy i was sent. Checking the batteries I found all three batteries tested completely flat (0 volts) and had started to swell. I've replaced the bàtteries with three new LR44 and it is working ok. I would rather not have button batteries in a childs toy even if the cover is secured with a screw however so please take note Amazon. Overall our grandson should enjoy playing with this however it will be interesting to see how long it lasts in the hands of a three year old.Edit note:- the set of Duracell batteries I fitted lasted a week with little use. Must be a faulty sound/light unit.

OK but far inferior to the previous model
The media could not be loaded. So I was looking for the widely popular 2018 ultimate rescue version of the fire truck for my toddler. Unfortunately it's no longer in stock and you can only buy them at very inflated prices now. After some mulling I opted for this newer version. So the good points- its big, with the full ladder extension it looks impressive (the ladder rotates 360 with several points of articulation to allow you to position it as you like with a slot for marshall)- sound effects like the familiar paw patrol theme tune plus the standard fire engine sounds- when you open up the chassis you can press a button to eject the water cannon and side taps. The water cannon can also launch "balls" of water, these plastic balls are a decent size so on the plus size hopefully not too difficult to lose.Negatives- in terms of accessories, you get a top heavy marshall (annoying as if they had just weighted his back legs he would be much easier to pose and position in the truck) you also get a detachable trampoline, you can detach the side ladders and that's it. I thought this was fairly stingy given that the older model you get a mini vehicle.- cheap wheel build ( just plastic with no grip) so my 3 yo got annoyed that they wouldn't spin when pushed on our wooden floor I guess my main negative (you decide whether this is fair) is that in my opinion its far inferior to the previous model which had far more features, retractable hose, front plus back working water cannons, mini vehicle, side rescue claw for the same price. So that's whyI think £50 would have been a fairer price point hence the 2/5 for price. 3/5 for sturdiness and durability as for £60 I expect this to stand up to a childs rough play and this is only week 1. My 3 year old has been enjoying it so far
