Fantastic product. It’s amazing how it swells up in water. Anyone who says product was not edible because it smelled bad clearly didn’t read instructions to rehydrate these. Just follow instructions, rinse them a few times in cold water and they’re great. Just trust the process. Don’t throw them out because of the smell before soaking them in water and rinsing them.

I grew up in South East Asia and by the ocean and also in North America. So I am very very aware of how Seafood products smell. I had ordered Seas Grapes from another supplier but they were sold out so I decided to try this product. However I was sooo shocked by the Smell of this product when i cut open the plastic packet. It really smelt like Sewer water. Whatever they did in the packing process, it felt like these Seagrapes were grown in Sewer or very dirty water. Then packaged without being washed so it really Stunk. I had to use Bleach to spray the packets that I put in my garbage bin so it wouldn't stink my kitchen garbage. Yes!! thats how bad.I tried to eat one packet despite my revulsion. I washed over and over and over and soaked in Tap water that natrually has some level of Chlorine to disinfect.There still was a little left over stink after 10 wash and rinses and soaking.Conversely the other Suppliers I have used, when you cut open the packet, there is virtually no strong smell.Give you a scale 1 - 10. This product its an 11 for STINK.other products on the market you cut it open you might get a 1-3 of natural Seaweed smell which is acceptable because it is from the ocean. so naturally it should smell like the ocean a bit. But OMG this product really STUNK!!!!I m sorry to the Manufacturers but you really need to take this feedback and find out what is wrong with your packaging process that makes it stink sooo bad and smells like Sewer Water.

I was excited about trying something new. I followed the instructions carefully. However they didn't have any taste. I added the delicious sauce and that's how I ate it. Maybe, I shouldn't rinse it so many times as the instructions say. The serving size is really small and the product is expensive.

For the first pack I tried to follow the instructions to the T. I rinsed the grapes after letting them sit in the water 3 times and then let them sit in ice. Only to find out that they lost all flavor and tasted like water. I tried to have them sit in soy sauce and they Immediately shrank up. I had to open a new pack because all of the grapes had gone bad from reshrinking. For this batch I just let them sit in the water and after they grew I added ice. Didn’t rinse once. They are best salty because they do not taste as much like seaweed.
