I got this journal to use to compile information about herbs. Its nature-oriented cover drew me to it when I saw it on Amazon "Inspire." And in person, the cover is just beautiful. It's slightly weathered-looking which just adds to its charm. I haven't started writing in it yet so I can't review the paper. The pages ARE somewhat dark, but not too dark to write on. I love this journal!

Bought this for my garden journal. I love how large it is, plenty of room to add lots of info on each plant. The handmade paper is gorgeous. Love this journal!

That’s only gripe with it. I only plan to use it for Halloween cosplay, but I’m going to store this thing away from my home because it was in my closet for like 30 mins and stunk it up. The smell is also on my hands. Going to store outside for a bit, to see if that helps

This journal is absolutely gourgeous and the copy I got was slightly faded compared to the examples shown but I loved the rusticness that added to the look. Why am I rating this one star? It's without a doubt, the WORST smelling thing I've ever owned. I'ved tried everything. Leaving it outdoors to air out, opening it up and leaving it under a fan, essential oil spray etc,. but nothing works to get rid of the headache-triggering chemical smell. I don't know if it's the chemicals in the pages or their texture but it's also very irritating to my hands to write on and I have to wash them afterwards or wear gloves to cover them.

I saw this and knew right away it would make a perfect grimwar.i love the texture of the pages the leather of the cover the design. It a good size and the pages are easy to write in.im pretty picky when it comes to looking for a new one and I'm so glade I found and order this.

First I’ll address the picture, second I’ll address THE SMELL.1. I ordered the largest size of this book, the 13x10. I wasn’t expecting real leather or anything, I was expecting the back and cover to at least be in focus. I’m assuming because it’s the largest size that they just enlarged and printed the same picture as the smaller sized books. It’s blurry to the point that when I first opened it, I thought my eyes were unfocused.2. What the heck is going on with the smell of this book? I can’t speak for others who’ve ordered it but mine smells VERY strongly of mildew. I’ve checked every page and haven’t spotted any mold but the smell is awful. I’m assuming/hoping that maybe it has something to do with how the paper was made or processed but holy wow does it smell terrible. I’m going to leave it open outside in fresh air to see if it dissipates and I hope it does.All in all I’m not completely disappointed, the paper inside seems to be a good sturdy quality and it does seem to be bound well, it’s sturdy enough. If I can get the smell off it, I’ll enjoy using it. I wouldn’t pay $40 dollars again for this though. The cover is blurry and it stinks.

Absolutely gorgeous design, with lovely hardware and ancient-looking pages that take various media well, including gel pens, microns and watercolour washes. Fountain pens are a bit iffy, as the paper's fibres tend to clog the nib and the texture can make the pen skip, but you can still use them with a bit of care. The cover came with a slight permanent dent which I can easily ignore. Happily, the inside cover is dark - some of the photos show a lighter colour. So delighted with this journal!

This journal is stunning. If you're a nature enthusiast, like things that look well worn, and vintage, then I recommend this product. I believe the picture on the cover and back are printed from a hand painting and not actually handpainted on the leather. The paper is super raw and old looking. You will either love it or hate it. Has a bit of a odd smell. Overall satisfied with this purchase.
