Have to do a bit of altering
So, we love rhe way the vest looks and is made. The 4 pockets are wonderful. But, it sticks out at the bottom. So, I will alter it and take it in on the sides. I love the color.

Runs small
Had to order a size up but that seems to have done the trick. Very nice looking vest. Good quality and nice fabric. Herringbone pattern is subtle but nice detail.

Arrived way too small, taken care of by seller.
This vest arrived, and it was at least two sizes too small. After a couple of interactions with the seller, we were able to come to an agreement on a negotiated refund, since the return was going to have to go back to China. Overall, I wish the vest had fit, but I appreciate the seller taking care of the problem quickly. The vest was great, and I really liked it. It would have been perfect it if would have fit.

Large fits a 44 Chest
First I'll address sizing. I have a 42 inch chest and 38 waist. Based on the sizing chart I purchased a Medium which turned out to be too small. I exchanged it for a Large which arrived just two days later. That fit well so I'm keeping it. As to quality, it appears very well made. As a comparison I own a couple of Outback Trading Jessie vests which are also wool tweed waistcoats very similar to this one. The Outback vests are more than twice the price and the quality difference is negligible. I would highly recommend this vest over others costing much more unless you want to pay for the brand name. I also like the coffee color. It's a very dark brown tweed.

Decent Vest, Good Customer Service
I ordered the vest in xl, it fit everywhere but was too short. In addition the maroon was not as solid as it looked in the picture. I expressed my issues and the seller sent me a second vest in a larger size and different color. The second vest is long enough for my torso, but a bit big everywhere else. To sum up, the product is decent quality, not great, but the customer service was very accommodating.

Use the Size Chart as your guide for ordering!
Update …This transaction ultimately worked out well, thanks to a merchant who is an excellent communicator! Amazon’s information on the site was, “Based on purchases by customers who wear your size, Large will fit you best.” Not so. Maybe Amazon is including clothing I’ve purchased for others in their algorithm. “Customers say this runs large” is a more accurate comment on the site. The merchant’s size chart, included in the photo displays, is correct. Large = 45.7 chest, 43.7 waist … Medium = 42.9 chest, 40.9 waist. First, measure yourself gently over the type shirt you intend to wear. I measure 40.5 over a long sleeve dress shirt at my true waist, and at the tightness I want a suit-type vest to fit comfortably, Western pocket watch-and-chain style. So Medium is correct for me, not Large. The merchant, in direct and honest communication, was highly understanding. Five Stars. Keep in mind that this is a suit vest, made to go over a long sleeve shirt (with the vest usually buttoned up), just exactly like the dude pictured on the horse, so the sleeve openings are cut full to allow a range of motion without the shirt bunching up. It’s also made that way to fit comfortably under a jacket without the three layers binding at your armpits. If you want it to fit tighter, measure honestly over the shirt you hope to wear it with. Judging from the pull at the buttons, it looks like the dude on the horse may be sized-down one size, but be careful, measure honestly and go by what you think would feel actually comfortable overall. The size chart is pretty accurate! If you’re looking for a “hippie in a t-shirt with an open vest on” vest, you may want a full size smaller, or an entirely different style, because the arm openings may look too large without enough shirtsleeve. The site says they can custom make, so with some talk, I imagine they would probably work with you! These vests are very nice, with a non-irritating satin lining, and the fabric continues across the back, so they look right when worn without a jacket. Well done!Previously …Decent construction for the price, only weak link is buttons lightly stitched, may need reinforcement. Ignore Amazons size suggestion if different from manufacturer’s size chart, as it created a need for wrong size return. Go with your gut (that’s a pun). No-name product with no fabric content label, but seems as described on Amazon site other than size confusion. Would reorder, as long as I don’t wind-up paying for four vests.

Size Runs small
This vest is more like a suit vest and not a working vest As the ad implies

Nice vest
I wanted to order this for sometime but I was unsure because of the differing review regarding the sizing. I wear an extra large shirt and ordered the extra large vest and found it a good fit. It is a nice looking vest and comfortable and I am happy with it but is not something that would do as an outside layer in place of jacket as pictured in the ad.The fabric looks thicker in The picture.
