Nostalgic but annoying for the newer generation!
Bought one each for my 10 & 8 year old for Christmas. By the 27th my 8yo had neglected his and doesn't want to reset it and my 10yo can't wait for his to die! They are very similar to the ones from the 90s but unfortunately not fun for my modern children. The game and food doesn't change as the pet gets older which is a bit disappointing as I seem to remember getting more options the longer you kept it alive when I had one as a child. The product itself is great but a bit lost on the newer generation sadly.

Great nostalgia, one negative…
I remember when tamagotchi was released, I had a dozen of them, and I absolutely LOVED them so when my son asked for one for Christmas I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to show him what the fuss had been all about ‘back in the day!’ It’s great fun, exactly as I remember them, really brings back memories and now I’m the one looking after it when my son is busy. I palmed off every one on my mum during school times desperately reminding her not to kill them!My only negative would be the screen… it’s so dim and hard to see, even in the day time. It’s actually rather annoying and I don’t remember having this problem when I was kid! It’s a little disappointing

Great toy
Great little toy for the kids, it’s pretty full on, you have to take good care of it or it “dies” but you can reset it & it will hatch again

Flashback to 1999
Worked straight out of the box, I was skeptical as I've not seen these since the 90's but it's exactly as I remember! Bought for my partner and she's always letting the poor thing starve to death or sleep in a mountain of poo, but she's happy...

Best thing I ever bought
This is honestly the best thing that I have ever bought. After seeing it on this thing my friend sent me I bought it on Amazon and it is honestly the best thing that I have ever bought. All of the qualities are amazing and honestly the display is really good.Pros:Really funAdorable animationEasy to get the hang ofTeaches you responsibilitiesCan pauseThe beeping can turn ofGrows up as you play with itOnly takes 6 minuets tops to get up and runningCons:Quite expensiveNeedySlightly dark displayHas nightmares so wakes you up in the nightAll in all more pros than cons and honestly, some of the things that I mentioned I only read on the internet. The dark display is honestly not as bad as some people are making out and I cannot take my eyes away. In fact, the slightly dark display hasn’t go any artificial light so can’t harm your eyes to bad.I have now been playing for 1 hour and 17 minutes

Brilliant
It keeps the person I brought it for hooked for hrs on end. Could be very good for someone with varying mental health conditions. This game distracts from your stress and pI. Something else to concentrate on. You can’t lose

Nosgalia, and that's all.
II was 7 years old when the very first wave of Tamagotchi arrived back in 1997. I distinctly remember the intensity of the popularity of these toys at the time. I must have owned a dozen or so Tamagotchi and other off-brand cyber pets. So during a moment of impulse buying, i found myself recently handing over 15 actual pounds to scratch a nostalgia itch. This Tamagotchi platform is identical to the original 1997 platform. The company in charge decided to reboot them recently as some sort of anniversary type thing. These are not the same as the later generation Tamagotchi. You cannot link them up to your friend's device. They are a simple feed/play/clean/repeat digital pet.I'm not sure who the target audience really is. Today's 7 year olds will likely find them utterly boring compared to electronic gaming today. And folk my age will buy for the memories, but likely wince at the price tag and realise very VERY quickley how mundane and repetitive these things actually were. One point i'd like to make, is the only thing they updated, were the outter shells. There are a few fancy new colours. But thats it. The screen is horrifyingly dim, and even with my specs on, i struggle to see what's happening unless the light is perfect. Also, the sounds of the buttons are pointlessly loud. You can mute it by pressing A and C simulataneously. But this also mutes the pet's "cries" for attention. (not actually a bad thing)All in all. If you need a moment to relive your childhood, then this might be a way to do so. But i honestly thing there might have been better things to spend £15 on these days...
