My wife is a big time quilter. She pieces fabric squares together and assembles quilts for other people. After hearing from one of her friends about the usefulness of a simple seam presser like this, she had me order this for her. She loves it. It is a simple device--just a wide wooden wheel on a handle, built to last a long time. But its simplicity is why it is so useful. Just simply rolling it over the excess fabric after seaming together quilt squares helps that fabric lay flat and makes it so much easier to later steam press all the fabric with a permanent crease. She cannot believe she lived without this for so long.Big bonus--this thing is much more than just a "seam presser." I found it useful to perfectly crease folds in card stock paper and it is great for making perfectly flat folds when creating paper airplanes with the grandkids! Crafters will love it just as much as those who sew.

I have purchased a lot of Madam Sew's products. Their quality of product and service is outsstanding and I've never been disapointed.This presser is good and does what it was designed to do. There is nothing wrong with this product but perhaps my expectations were different than what I received.The presser is good and is built with a plastic handle and wood roller.The roller is nice but is not very heavy (I had expected/hoped it would be heavier than it is). The handle is not flimsy but I have concerns about how well it will hold up over the long-term with the added pressure I use to exert on the roller when I press down.I think the reason I say that it wasn't quite what I was looking for is that I was looking to use this for more than just its designed use. I work with a lot of papers and I was planning on using it as a dual use tool.I want to be clear... this presser does exactly what it is supposed to do and will serve you well. I just wish it was a little heavier than it is. I gave the review 5 stars but for what I was hoping for I would have given it a 4.

Being able to temporarily press down seams without having to jump up and down to use an iron is such a blessing, especially to those of us who are a little bit older or have any physical limitations. Even young people without any limitations should appreciate the saving of time and energy that this tiny tool provides by allowing us to keep a steady, uninterrupted pace.This tool is not only great for pressing down fabric seams, there are a variety of ways to use it with various craft projects. I look forward to using it with the many craft projects that I have planned with our grandchildren. They love to participate and this tool will be fun and easy for them to use. Everybody seamstress or crafter should have one of these!

This little roller is a must to keep by your sewing machine for small jobs.

Very useful when sewing, but an iron isn't available.

You wouldn’t think this works by the looks of it, it’s small but mighty like a tiny rolling pin. Press down, roll on seam and it lies flat. Perfect.
