Good Deal
Good Price. Seems to be decent quality. Worked fine. Used it for the 1st time on a 2001 Pontiac Quad Four Engine.

Flimsy
I tried to use this to remove 4 valve springs on my motorcycle engine (1980 Yamaha XS400). On the first spring, one of the riveted joints on the tool broke. I replaced it with a bolt. Then another one broke, which I also replaced with a bolt. Then the tool bent. It still would not compress the springs. What a useless piece of junk and waste of time. I ended up using the "socket and hammer" method, which actually works pretty well if anyone is wondering.

The company stood behind it and gave me another spring compressor to replace it.
I was a mechanic many years ago and had the best of tools, but moved on to business, so I sold my tools. Now I am retired and am helping my son restore a '73 Nova. I figured I am only going to use it on one vehicle, so I bought this cheap on. I am very familiar with valve spring compressors. And I can categorically say, that anyone who left a good review for this product, has never used a real valve spring compressor. Before I finished removing the valves from one bank, ( keep in mind, I still have the other bank to go, and will have reinstall the valves in both) this thing came all to pieces; it could not stand the pressure. Not only could it not stand the pressure, it sucked to use, it is unbelievably poorly designed. For example, when the pivot is locked, the crossbar in the screw hits the pivot handle. Talk about frustrating to use, but use it I did, but as mentioned it came all to pieces before I could finish one bank. A total waste of money, I still have to go buy a good one.Follow up: The company reached out to me and gave me a free spring compressor of a different style. I cannot hold them responsible for the poor quality of this particular compressor, the company itself, is first class!

Nice valve spring clamp
It was very easy to use on my SBC heads. Great value. I used the arms that was mounted on it when it arrived. Looks like it will hold up for light to moderate use.
