Vegan Chocolate - Ombar Strawberry Mylk (35g x 10 Bars) Organic Fair Trade, Dairy and Gluten Free Chocolate

This dark chocolate is very tart and fruity, I’ve never tasted one like it. Obsessed.

I love 100% chocolate; I like that I can access all the natural goodness inherent in this wonder food, without having to add milk and/or sugar just to make it palatable.However, even some is just too bitter for me, and I feel that astringency spoils the complex flavour, rather like a very hot curry cancels out the herbs and flavour of the meat.And so, I’ve been burned before when taking a chance on a new chocolate - as they’re never cheap are they? So it was a nice surprise when I experienced a few squares of this deliciously (and comparatively) mild 100% chocolate.I’ve read a few not so positive reviews regarding the intense flavour - this is 100% chocolate! You’re probably best working your way up to 100% in small increments, and possibly start with the cheaper stuff first too.However, if you’re a seasoned consumer of chocolate like this, you may be pleasantly surprised.The bars may be small, but you get 10 of them, and the price I’d say is fairly reasonable. I’ve paid way more for a less enjoyable experience! Also, it’s worth remembering the nature of the beast - no one gorges themselves on this kind of chocolate! A few squares is enough to fully appreciate the wonderfully complex layers of flavour that reveal themselves to you as you slowly let them dissolve themselves on your tongue. Take your time, and savour them. Bliss.

These are tiny what a con, they are marketed like they are a standard size bar by the images.Waste of money!!

Probabaly worth mentioning as i missed this. The bars are extremely small. Popped an egg next to it in the picture just for a visual aid. I was very surprised when they arrived. So for me the value for money is not great i will stick to biying v high % cacao large bars locally for less. Unfortunatel these are non returnable or i would have returned for a refund. I wanted this for cooking but would need ro use all 10 bars to make 1 lot of cookies and £20 on choclate as opposed to a couple of pounds just isn't visible.I have not yet opened to try. Will update once tried but even if it was remarkable i would nkt purchase again size/cost etc as doe me as mentioned i wanted for baking and need 200g for each batch.

Very nice chocolate. It lost one star as it has become expensive.

I decided to try these instead of my usual Lindt 90% and I'm not impressed. Only 4 days left on best before date at the time of delivery, odd taste, surprisingly high carb content compared to Lindt (30 vs 14 per 100g), and well over two times the price per kg. Won't buy again.

My sister introduced me to Ombar chocolate, she is dairy intolerant and can't enjoy ordinary chocolate. So this is really for her and she loves it. Yes you get a hint of coconut but it is not overpowering. Look forward to trying other flavours.

Love these Ombars. I'm not dairy or gluten free, but I do avoid refined sugar and these are great. A deep, rich cocoa hit without the bitter edge of 100% "chocolate". They are small bars, but quality. I just have one piece in the evening as a treat. You gets what you pays for, so they're not really for gobbling down in a chocolate frenzy (though you can do that, if that's required!). Highly recommend.
