Stunning design and very well made, but........
This fire pit is a really beautiful design and looks stunning. It appears to be very well engineered and is very sturdy. However, it's not cheap and I feel it's slightly over-priced, especially as I believe the optional Spark Guard is essential and the combined price for the Ranger, complete with stand, plus the Guard, adds up to £400. Mind you, the design is also quite unique so I don't feel completely "ripped-off".The packaging is good and appears to adequately protect the contents from transit damage and mine arrived completely blemish free. The included carry-bag makes transporting the Ranger a simple task and it will also accommodate the Spark Guard. There's absolutely no self-assembly involved. All you need to do is to make sure the "ring" is the right way round and your wood isn't too long to fit within the fire chamber. so it doesn't interfere with airflow through the secondary burner holes.I will comment further after I've had the opportunity to fire-up my Ranger 2 or 3 times.

Portable, mostly smoke free even in wind, warm and welcoming , pretty flames, popular at parties
The headline says most of it. I bought this as a camping fire pit - but have mostly used it in garden settings so far. It's quite pretty when not lit - in a stainless steel kind of way - but comes into its own when alight. It smokes a little to start with until it gets hot - then, as long as you keep the wood below the inner rim of holes then minimal smoke (but not absolutely none) comes from it. It doesn't give off quite as much heat as an open fire pit - but minus the smoke means you can get much closer to it without getting tears in your eyes every give minutes - and you don't really notice. The secondary combustion at the rim holes can be very pretty - at its best when the fire inside actually touches the inside walls to pre-heat the air. It's fairly heavy - and feels well made to last a lot of years. The stainless does discolour and turn a golden colour near the rim - but I've heard this can be cleaned up if required - personally it's not a problem for me and I'll leave it as it is. I'll probably end up getting a bigger one to be more permanent feature on my decking. Very impressed

solo stove
I have needed to replace my fire pit for a while and looked at this one (ranger) and also the bonfire version. This one comes with its own carry bag as its portable - certainly big enough for my patio - quite big for a portable fire - really wouldn't want to have to carry it too far. I bought the stand as well and tested it out on the grass - kept the fire going for several hours and not one burnt blade of grass which is brilliant! It says it is smoke free and that is true but you have to get the fire going really hot and fast to start with. My only fault would be that there was a slight dint in the fire pit when we opened the box up - but didn't send it back as it would eventually get some wear and tear anyway.

Best firepit I've owned
This is by far the best firepit I've used. It's smaller than I would usually but but kicks out a lot of heat. The flames at the top look fantastic and it really is no smoke, it's great having a fire and not smelling off smoke. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant
Just love it, it’s expensive granted but worth the moneyIt does smoke a little when you light it (obviously) but once lit and if using DRY wood it will burn like no otherOn the deck with a fire proof mat for precautionary reasons and the stand stays cool, it’s safeWouldn’t be without it nowHighly recommended

Amazing fire, nearly smoke free
Beautiful design, easy to light. Feels solid and well made. Flames are amazing and no way you can burn logs without any smoke but this is as near as you can get - I can sit next to it, eyes not stinging, clothes smoke free after.

For a truly smokeless fire only use kiln dried hardwood such as oak or birch. Amazing piece of kit
The media could not be loaded. Very easy to light without fire starters.Just build the kindling like they do on the YouTube how to site.Happy Fire nightsGaryT
