Great router with advanced features for an affordable price.
The Edgerouter X SFP is a great router for the money with so many advanced features for such a low price. If you’re just about getting it set up and leave it then there are great wizards which will help but if you’re using more advanced functionality then you will need to have some networking knowledge.

Goodbye All-In-One 'Consumer routers'
Been using those All-in-One consumer routers for years. The last one was a Asus RT68u that has all the bells and whistles, but slows down once there's too much traffic on the network.I bought a UniFi Access Point to begin and found the WiFi was much improved through the whole house. After ditching the Asus RT68u for Edgerouter ER-X-SFP, I can finally say that I'm happy with my home network! No more rebooting, fast pings and stable WiFi. (ER-X-SFP and two UniFi AP's covering the whole house.)The ER-X-SFP has a inbuilt 'switch-chip' so there's less performance hit compared to something like a Edgerouter Lite, which will use the software for switching capability. In the future I will upgrade to a separate UniFi gateway and switch once there's a improved range of gateways.£70 well spent!*Note you will require some basic knowledge of computing/networking to setup the router and access points.tbh; using any All-in-One router (turn off WiFi) and using a UniFi AP-AC-Pro saw a big improvement in WiFi coverage.

Fantastic value for money
Have used many routers the last few years, when I needed more advanced features I eventually switched to running a VM, tried pfsense, opnsense, sophos , untangle and all of them had their issues with the setup I wanted, untangle was my favourite but would randomly lose internet when my 4g modem would renew its ip.Switched to the edge router and while it took some time to setup, since then it has worked flawlessly, never needed to reboot it or even go back into settings

Great product, illegal power plug
Ubiquity EdgeRouter X SFP delivered promptly and in working condition (tested setup wizard); seller was SENETIC EU fulfilled by Amazon. I won't review the router itself yet as I have a more complex VLAN setup planned, and it is the flexibility and capability of this router that made this seem like a good choice. Ubiquity's website has extensive manuals and community forums. I also have ordered Ubiquity WiFi access points which will be powered by the PoE feature.A warning to customers in the UK:SENETIC EU (or the importer) has opened the box to helpfully include a UK plug adapter from the original Europlug lead. However this seems like a cheap low-quality universal travel adapter (see picture) which is NOT BS1363-compliant (no fuse, no BS1363 stamp, no earth connection, not even a CE stamp). As you see from the picture the ground would not connect to the Europlug, and thus your PoE devices and shielded cat6 cable would not be grounded - which could be risky if connecting to other grounded network equipment and probably void warranty on both this product and what you connect. This unfused and ungrounded travel adapter would NOT be not legal to use in a regular install in UK. As it is not even got any BS1363 or CE stamp I would also consider it dangerous to use.As the power block uses regular C5 3-pin laptop power lead I just used one I had from an old laptop; you can also buy a legal lead from Farnell or Amazon, for £1.50 including fuse - does make you wonder how much SENETIC paid for the adapter.

Works with Sky FTTP
Very easy to setup and update and was working in minutes! Throughput is faster and latency is reduced now the sky router is sat in the loft somewhere!

Very underpowered
Let's start with the good things. The router working (when it is working) and able to 960 Mbit/s via the NAT.Good things over... Here is the issues:- The box arrived open. The seal was broken.- The router started working until the configuration was a basic config. Enabled DPI (Deep packet inspection) and the speed dropped to 200 Mbit. It is normal as the CPU working hard. Then I switched off the DPI and the speed dropped even lower 150 Mbit. Same settings as before the DPI activation. I was not able to switch off DPI at all. Factory reset solved the issue.- Then tried to configure my DDNS on Noip. I was not able to save the settings. All setting was correct but not saving.2nd factory reset, After that worked fine- Then tried to install OpenVPN server. The CA key generation was 4 hour!!!! Finally after a half day I have one OpenVPN key file what is not working.... Time well spent... (I don't need to say factory reset again).- The router came with old 1.9.2 firmware, upgraded to 2.x. After upgrade freezing. No GUI. 4th factory reset. (by reset button on the back)Fortunately after factory reset it is working again. It is the experience after the first 8 hours.Update after 3 days:The box still working fine. Seems stable now and fast. My OpenVPN is not working and to be honest I will not force it. L2TP works fine and use less CPU. As far as I can see the key of this router is to minimize the CPU hungry features. It is a nice wee router but for the buyers who have 300Mb+ broadband access and looking for OpenVPN capable router I would like to recommend the higher spec edge routers for example ER4.
